Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

OMG I was pulling my hair out WITH the special tool (pinched my hand, scratched up my arm etc). I used to put stacking cockatiel breeding cages together back when I had my business (Flights of Fancy) with no issues. The j clip plier handles s were shorter. The ones FF sells the handle is like 10 inches long so my hand cant grip around it far enough towards the end to close...so I have to grip then hold it with my other hand, move my right hand out to the end in order to close the handles. Needless to say, 1/3 of them ended up not closing right!
Lol! As I said to Jim, a true test of patience, eh? I feel your pain, Ang.

Can't say I ever want to put together any more of those! I have almost a full bag of J clips if anyone wants them.

No worries here, cs. I used to toss the canned cat food that the cats didn't finish out for the critters. I had skunks, opossums & coons visit here nightly. They never went near my coop, knock on wood. But that momma coon was flippin huge! She did teach her kids how to raid my suet feeder, though.

I have to admit, my 2 buff orps have never gone broody and they are now 4. But my Dom/BA hybrids are nuts. I have at least 2 of them broody every year (out of 7). I have my first lav orp broody right now, along with a black orp & a GLO. The blacks have the most tendency to go broody of all my orps.

Man, I can't type for crap tonight! Can't tell you how many times I hit the backspace...........

good eve, just started raining here a little .. this is the first watering my garden is getting.. so I really am glad it is raining ..

Those Jclips are similar to hog rings, but from the sound of it, hog rings are much easier to use..
the tool is small like a pair of pliers.. you can easily use just one hand, and it doesn't take much muscle ..

the puppy seems to be not feeling too well yet.. I took her outside on the leash and she seemed to be dizzy .. didn't walk to steady .. actually didn't want to walk ..

her eyes are bright,, I think fighting off the infection is wearing her down.. I just wish she would eat more.. she is not running a fever..

a cross bow is perfect for SSS .. shoot, shovel and shut up . let the people wonder what happened and why their dog didn't come home..

Dan- I knew some of you would disagree with. I think that all animals are "cute" in their own right. I also believe that if they are not posing a threat, I needn't worry about their presence. We've been fortunate to not ever have predators to our animals....short of our own dogs as a threat to the chickens

Jim- so sorry that ANA isn't feeling well. Did the vet say that her meds would make her dizzy and disoriented? Maybe she is having an allergic reaction?

Good Morning all,

Well, my Peahen that was sitting on 5 eggs was off her nest today and a chicken and rooster were hanging around !!!
Gee Whiz ! Last year I had 17 Muscovy ducklings come wandering one day and now this year I have geese sitting on eggs, ducks (magpies and muscovys) sitting and some chickens now since OMET didn't collect and I have yet to have one hatch !!! Wondering if they possibly got to chilled in the beginning of sitting and they are all on top of duds !!! ???
Was actually looking forward to little ones even though I don't need even one more.

Just got over a cold and I think I'm getting another one.
My smart phone says it's 47 and overcast.... Feels a lot colder than that !

CS I'm sure your pup is vaccinated for rabies right ? I can see why you would save the baby coon. But I also agree by feeding them directly or indirectly it is flirting with danger. I wouldn't kill them though... just me....

My neighbor told me he sees fox near my house in the AM's all the time. I think he is exaggerating about how often... he like to stir me up I think. But I do know the fox has gotten my chickens in the past. I think having free range geese does help a bit. Haven't lost a goose to a predator so far.

Well, think it's time to call it a night. Family is coming up this weekend. Hopefully my sister brings Addie, her Grandaughter (if it doesn't rain) I need to get my Addie Fix.. Been to long since I"ve seen her.

Kristip... that chick id adorable. Will be interesting to see what color and sex it will be. And what color egg it lays if it turns out to be a hen.

Night Cindlady
