Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks Dan, for all the great info on buckwheat and I'll be sure to check out Cashton Farm Supply.

Kildare, thank you for the suggestion on what to plant for next year's meaties. We will be sure to have the soil tested first.

Back again.
Cleaned out the condos in the rain this morning, which kept some of the mosquitoes at bay. After that I kept seeing one thing after another that I thought I should do, and kept going til just a few minutes ago in the high winds.

Now my back is about ready to kill me, and I can't wait to see my chiropractor tomorrow (he probably will have a serious talk with me after he told me last week to ice my back twice a day and take it easy).

Meanwhile we had more pheasants hatch. Up to 6 now. 4 Red Goldens and 2 Lady Amherst screaming away. One already jumped out and is running and racing around the cage.

All the ducklings inside are sleeping. So cute!

My smallest Anconas getting almost too big to be inside now.

Now just waiting on SO since he is wiring his newly built gazebo and then relax, take a long hot shower and get some shut eye. Til then!

Here was my afternoon. Just a few shots. Enjoy!

This is my sister 'helping'.... it is nice to have family around to call up at a moment's notice to lend a hand. I needed a train poofer.

No, my oldest DD is NOT getting married any time soon; these are promotional shots for the Opera House for wedding rentals. They needed a bride and since I have the camera, dress, and kid who can pull off the 'look'; we were drafted. We had a very fun afternoon!

That is a cute bunny, BBP.

Sorry about your job, Kristi.

H&R, glad your dad is improving.

Good luck on your hatch and septic issues, Ang. Guess my weekend wasn't quite that bad, but still a doozy of a Friday the 13th.

DH went back to the doc today. On the ride there, he decided repeatedly clenching his fist was a good idea. NOT! Doc said he pushed the infection to spread out further. Another shot in the keester & more oral antibiotics for him. And if it continues to spread more, he will have to be admitted for an IV drip. Oh, and he told me late yesterday afternoon that his mom & hubby were coming over to grill out today. Seriously?!?!?!?

And while they were here, 2 eggs decided to hatch early. It just keeps getting better...............

I hope everyone had a great fathers day. No rain here, but they got a drenching to the east & NW of here.

Thanks CC! That old adage "Pretty is as pretty does" applies to this one. ;) She was a good sport about it today, even with five people shouting directions at her and having someone mess with the dress and hair and jewelry..... she kept her cool. Ten minutes before she arrived I hear she was quite the bear though! :D

You should ask Steve if he enjoys playing the guitar or would he consider learning to play missing a finger or two...... Cat bites are nothing to mess around with.

H&R, glad your dad is doing much better. Those anti seizure meds are not so bad anymore; nothing like they were 20 years ago!

Jim, glad you got your garden in.

Everyone who is tired of the rain can send it this way; we really need it

Hi All!

H&R...Glad your dad is doing better and congrats to your Aunt!

bl4.... I'm not sure when the house went on the market, according to Hubby it was on the market for a while before it was listed. I think it's been listed for maybe 6 months. He was talking to the neighbors so knows more about it than I do. If you want, he could call you and tell you what he knows. Nice Pics!

Kristi.... Too bad about your job. Now days one one is indispensable.

Angie.... I feel for you! Our second tank that goes to the leach field overflowed. Luckily it's outside although it's under the deck and STINKS! Sure hope you get your mess cleaned up soon and you didn't loose anything important!

Jim... yep, the point of having guineas is to eat bug (ticks) and sound the alarm. If you have them out doing their job I guess you got to expect to loose a few. Lets hope Gus does his job and chases off the hawk!

CC....Wow! I hope he learned is lesson! Some things you just can't push through.Deep infections of any kind are bad.... real bad!

Well, I pulled Pepper's unhatched eggs today and as I picked them up, 2 more peeped at me! I don't know if both will hatch though, I checked later and one had about 1/3 of the shell off but the membrane was still intact. I poked a little hole and put it back. Mom picked more shell off, guess we'll see in a few hours.

Night All!

Yes the job sucks but what do you do.
Right now I am thrilled as we have baby chicks...do we need them, not really but it makes my broody happy. Carol gave me the marans eggs and said mom was a blue copper marans and dad was a cuckoo marans- we now have 2 splash and one blue and then the crazy colored silkie/EE. My morgan is in love per usual.

good afternoon,

have one duck in the hatcher and another with a real good pip,,
there are only 8 eggs so we will see how it goes..

I am heading out to plant my millet seeds if the garden has dried up enough..

then I am going to mow some grass and blackberries down and plant my squash seeds ..then the vines can run over where I cut the blackberries down..
