Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Angie that is great! And for all of you looking, once again here if the GF cake I made for the bash.

http://www.yammiesglutenfreedom.com/2014/03/the-best-gluten-free-white-cake-ever.html

I did not use the egg whites, I used 4 whole eggs instead. And TO will tell you my cake looked nothing like the one on the web site......

SClark, unfortunately the father will keep his visitation rights no matter what. He could be convicted of murder and he would still have the right to see his kid....

No biggie on the job, it would have been nice but I was overqualified for it. The phone screen I have on Monday is another one I am overqualified for, but I suppose you never know what can happen. I really need a job soon, as much as I enjoy milking my former employer for UI bennies, I have plans that need cementing right now and in order to pull it off I need a job. On top of that I have to start re-paying my student loans and the Jetta needs the 80k tune-up which I got the estimate for today which is to the tune of around 1600.00...... I suppose the guy upstairs does not give you more than you can handle, but I could really use a break right now......

Poor Taffy never fully recovered from her illness last summer. The calls are around 4 years old so I suspect we will see the remaining two live for a few more years, but not for much longer.

Time to get dinner going. TTFN!

Sorry to hear about not getting the job, the bad hatch and loss of the call duckie. :( (sorry if I forgot anyone. Short term memory giving me trouble when I'm too stressed).

Meanwhile I was waiting for the one piped duck egg to hatch, and after coming inside for a short bit there was some very loud screaming coming out of the bator. To my surprise it wasn't a fluffy yellow Pekin but a Rouen. Guess my Rouen girl must have snuck in a white egg instead her usual blue/green! The other two don't have any movement I can see, but we'll see what comes of them. None if the last batch of pheasant babies piped yet. Must have been from all the power outages with all the storms recently... Oh well...

Clouding over big time again, tons of dragonflies out and eating lots of skeeters (but not enough yet) and waiting for another long night of storms in the coming. Isn't the week of storms over yet?!

waiting on the brat to come back for a couple (hopefully only!) days from OTR trucking (his new job) but not really looking forward to it. Gonna get ignored by SO til he leaves again.

Also kinda upset that SO wanted to start getting all the duckies and start breeding about 4 breeds but haven't seen him once cleaning out the condos! He only does a half a*# job on the inside tubs too despite HIM wanting to go into breeding. Guess he only waits for the breeding next year and leaving me (and my messed up back) to pick up the rest for him. Fuming right now bout that!...

Gotta start chasing them in and taking care of the dogs before the rain starts. Til later then...

You should try that GF cake I made..... this is the first weekend in three weeks I did not make it. Everyone raved about it and were shocked it was a GF cake! No grit!

I just love bread too much to give it up...... I would have to find a GOOD GF recipe to get me to even attempt a GF diet......

good eve.,

we just transferred all the guineas from the TV's out to the brooder pen.. there were 53 from this hatch, not counting the 5 we left in the hatcher to dry off ,, and 32 from the last hatch.. so we transferred 85 total.. with the ones that were already out there, the number is well over 100..
I re-ran the ad on craig's list today.. I raised the price to $5.oo/each..

I shut off the brooder heater in the other pen and turned those mixed breed chicks loose inside the main coop.. they have pretty good size already and are quite well feathered out..

the beans are up..

bad news/good news bad news: there was a chicken wing in our driveway today..
good news: not one of our chickens.
we have no idea where it came from or how it got to our driveway ..

Annie stole 25 eggs from a guinea nest.. they are in the incubator now..

I had to toss two of the turkey eggs.. they were stinky.. still 103 left ..

that's if from here..

.....jiiminwisc........

Thanks CS, I am happy to see it does not contain any soy. Now I need a white bread recipe, I so love eating fresh Mozz, tomato and Basil with french bread and dipping olive oil....... yummy! Best meal right there, simple, earthy food. I sent your recipe to my BIL who has gluten intolerance.

CC, glad to see Steve's hand healed up so nicely ANd that he was able to avoid the IV antibiotics!

Made Ratatouille tonight for dinner. Good thing DH does not complain about meatless dishes! I thought it was pretty good!

Dogs went out to the in-laws, and of course Ginger had to roll in something VERY fragrant. She earned herself a bath today.

Not much else to report here.....

BigZ, they still going to allow us to come back to the camp next year???????

Well, sat here all day waiting for FedEx. No computer today despite the website AND the Recording (when I called at 5:30pm) stating that it was going to be delivered today. Finally talked to a live person and he said no it's still in Chicago !!!! Fine I had no problem with that but why in the H3ll did the website and the phone call state it was coming today.
Then he compares it to ...when you get in an accident and go to the body shop and get an estimate on repairing your car etc..... it was just an estimated delivery !!!! *** ...... he said he would fix it.... knowing it wasn't coming today I said what are you going to do... He said nothing I can do...... HELLO SUPERVISOR... filled a complaint that the website should have never said it was coming today. The correct answer would have been, I'm sorry for the mmix up I will report the problem etc..... Idiot !!! Yesterday it said it was coming Friday..... *** wasted my whole day, cancelled my trip to town and now I have to stay home tomorrow.... guess dirty laundry can wait !!! LOL

Bl4 meant to say... sorry for loosing Taffy.. She was a cutie. Thanks for posting the GF cake recipe again. I was afraid to ask !!! lol
Cind I've been meaning to ask you about your green goop. I didn't read all of the ingredients that were listed at the bash. I've been reading all about essential oils and made some fly and mosquito sprays for the horses. I used them on myself the other day and there is one in particular that I really like and economical to make.

Jim, I saw the ad on CL.... holy crap...... what are you feeding those guinea's ? Their breeding faster then rabbits. I must have all males left.... Fox probably got all of my sitting hens ? lol Oh well, now I know where I can get some.

Mel, I just looked at that recipe. You are right it looks nothing like yours !!! Wish I would have taken a picture of yours !! I could win a prize. What did you put between the layers? Was it Raspberry jam ? Whatever it was it was delicious. Reminded me of Danish Layer Cake. YUM !

Hi all!
We had fun day at 4-h tonight. Sooo fun :)

Horse people!!!

Brownie has no flies bothering him anywhere.nexcept his EYES! Poor guy. Is there anything I can do? Anything safento put near hos eyes? Or should I go find one of those face masks?
Thanksnin advance!

Frenchie, I had Lemon Curd and fresh raspberries in-between the cake layers. I have pics but not on my laptop.

CS I see that website has a few variations on their recipe. I will have to try them out and see if I like them.....

Cuties, I would get a mask myself. That way you are not having to spray him constantly.
