Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning,

yes, another batch of guineas is hatching.. I suspect these are Jim P's .. he also steals nests,,
they are dated due on 6/30 ..

I am having a really bad cuppa.. I made it in the single cup brewer.. too much water in this batch. weak coffee..

I have to go to the Cardio Doc this morning..

there are an additional dozen or so keets in the hatcher.. still coming, slow but sure..
I didn't count the ones that hatched, but the chick tv has no room for any more.. these will all be going out to the brooder pen today,,

Annie is picking up my loader parts in Mosinee this morning.. this afternoon I have to go to the steel yard and get some steel plate.. Tomorrow we are going to get the cylinders mounted..
If my welder doesn't forget to come..

And yet another rejection email. I think I should start printing these off and using them as wallpaper. I do have another phone interview on Monday for another job that I feel I am overqualified for, but you never know what can happen so full speed ahead.

One of our calls died last night. She was just getting bumble foot, and since we were going to be gone I did not want to get her until today but we are too late to save her.

Thank you all for the well wishes! And a huge thanks to Cind for her green goop. His scratches are almost gone. Just the bite is left to heal.

You should try that GF cake I made..... this is the first weekend in three weeks I did not make it. Everyone raved about it and were shocked it was a GF cake! No grit!

I just love bread too much to give it up...... I would have to find a GOOD GF recipe to get me to even attempt a GF diet......
Could I get that recipe.

Dang BL4, thought for sure this was going to be the "one" I agree with the bread part nothing life a homemade loaf warm from the oven with a crusty crust slathered in butter... Heaven

CC Amazing how fast Steve's hand healed and he didn't get the IV drip... He has an excellent nurse!

SClark so sorry about the eggs what a mess... Good luck with the "interviews/screenings" are you looking to take custody or is this so your daughter can have a bigger part in her life? Hoping everything works out for you!

Mosquito season is officially in high gear... when I opened the door to car to leave for work this morning I was joined by about two dozen hitchhikers, several of which are now decorating the windshield on the inside...Need lots more bats... Perhaps I could raise and rent them out like they do bee hives?

Got some wonderful news yesterday ! My niece that lives in Hudson had her little baby boy. Gavin Edward. 6 lbs 12 0z. She had a very difficult labor and the little guy had low blood sugar and was at risk of infection because of the long labor. She tore before they could cut her and she spiked a fever during labor and the list goes on !!! So needless to say she missed out on the bonding time because little Gavin needed to stay in the intensive care unit. Not on iv or anything else thank god. He is a real cutie pie. I am so happy for them. She has celiacs (that gluten thing) and waited a long time for this little guy ! So so happy for them. Just wished they lived closer. He teaches at River Falls so had to go where the work is.

On the bad news. My Mr Peabody, the male Peacock has disappeared about three days ago now. I noticed I wasn't hearing his call every night. He would perch high up in the dead elm tree (that the horses killed by eating all of the bark on it as high as they could reach). OMET didn't notice Mr Peabody gone !!!
I drove around on the ATV a bit looking for signs of attack or ??? but no luck.

The neighbor said he saw a fox in our field headed this way (wonder why hey? lol) Didn't think a fox could take down a Peacock but OMET said they kill wild turkeys so I guess that could be what got him. About a month ago my Great Pyrenees managed to dislodge several of his tail feathers but he still was able to get high up into the tree so who knows !!! I miss him.
The Peahen that was sitting on eggs gave up on them.... so I guess no babies this year.

Mel, sorry to hear another position passed you buy !! That sucks. Hopefully the next one will pan out.
Sclark, nice bators. sorry for your loss of chicks and eggs.
CC, Tell Steve I want to hear all about the cat but and mending ordeal.....at next years bash after he's had a few !!! LOL Glad he's doing good. I was bit by a cat when I was about 11 yrs old. I brought the neighbors big old tom cat into the house to meet my cat and a cat fight pursued.... The Tom bit me, I dropped him and my sister ran to the front door and opened it. I ran to the back door and let him out. Sad, the next day we couldn't find our cat. Tootsie had a collar on with her name and our number on it. (Tootsie turned out to be a male so that explains the cat fight) anyway we got a phone call. Tootsie must have ran out the door while we were tending to the cat bit and was hit by a car. That was so sad, and my fault.
Still have the scar on my wrist. Tell Steve if he shows me his I'll show him mine !!! LOL

Cind, sorry to hear of your chick loss too ! I found one dead guinea keet baby and one duckling that must have hatched ??? knows when. Nothing else is hatching. Weird !

Ok, now that I've written Novel # who know's I'll let you all go about your business ! I'm waiting for the FedEx to come.... I'm getting a new addition to the family !!!

New Laptop! Yippeee.... and it doesn't eat !!!!

PS Glad everyone survived the storms... and CS I tried the GF for about a week... I really did feel better.... but I love ALL food to much... that didn't last long but I should try it again.
Sorry if I forgot anyone else, but I do read them all !

Well out of the monster problems besides the 43/120 I ended up with 4 BLRW, 1 SS and 1 Lav orp EE out of 45. I put the 30 guinea eggs in the sportsmans lastnight but didn't candle them yet to see how many are still alive. Being it was in the middle of the incubation process I'm wondering about deformities, guess I'll find out.

Well the case review didn't go so well yesterday and I'm pretty upset with the soc worker on the case. She completely did a 180 and is now taking sides with the drug dealing/addict father and they are planning on making me do 4 visits a week, 2 to eau claire for my daughter and 2 to Holcombe with the father. Meanwhile he is still using and after 6 1/2 months just now started going to his aoda assessment that was suppose to be done by court order within 60 days of the birth of the baby besides not working and living at home with his mother at age 31. Then when I disagreed with this they said what about me driving baby to eau claire and a worker driving her part way home and same thing with the dad. I said either way it's 4 days of my life instead of 2 days and besides if I drive to eau claire to drop her off I might as well stay the 2 hours for the visit and drive her home. They can pay a worker an hourly wage and gas mileage but they refuse to do a blood drug test or get the correct items to test for the K2 that he's smoking or the other drugs he's using. Makes me so frustrated beyond anything. Part of me just wants me to hand her to them as I know eventually they are going to take her and put her back with them knowing they cannot properly care for her and part of me wants to take custody but I don't have the finances to get a lawyer for that. My daughter is not using and hasn't been but she is so mentally messed up I know she can never properly take care of the baby the way she deserves and it breaks my heart to see them wanting to throw the baby back with them. They have no care for the well being of that little girl! I swear I don't wish this on anyone ever, it's so heartbreaking and stressful that I can't begin to put it in words. I love this little girl as though she was my own and I don't want to see her hurt.

Went to dr today about my knee, it's so bad that they don't think surgery will even help so they give me a brace and anti inflamatory and go back in 2 months, if that doesn't work they will try injections. Another thing that Marshfield clinic has caused to my body for not dealing with a problem the correct way and just letting me deal with the pain for over 20 years. Sorry I'm just having a really bad day.

Wind is really picked up here sure hope it doesn't blow too much stuff away, I see it took a piece of the tin for the garage roof and bent it up already. Got it all held down now but if it gets any stronger not sure it will survive. Hope to have the garage done within the next few weeks if the weather would hold off a few days it would be finished.

Sorry about the Call duck, it always sucks losing any animals. My blrw girl is still alive but she's very thin. She still drinks and eats, but doesn't move around too well. May just have to make the decision already for her well being and cull.
