Rainy morning here again
frow.gif
storming again including a tornado warning that we ended up going into our basement storage area for about 30 minutes but safe and sound. Have to go and do chores...we left everyone inside until the major part went past.

Paperwork here for awhile, waiting for our friend's 2 dogs to get here for us to watch.

Have good one!

It has been feeling like it is in the 90s since I woke up this morning. Yuck!

Vicki, we have 7 lil peepers! 2 eggs still in the bator. I'm not too optomistic about them, but I will give them another day or two.

They are beautiful, plump, healthy chicks. Thank you again soooooooooo much!

I sent my sis some pics of them & she was really impressed with their quality. She is very grateful to you and your generosity also.

They look really good..if she wanted to show them..most should be SQ..they come from good stock. All the toes should be good. The only issue I have is once in a while the red can pop up on a cuckoo.(incorrect comb and ear color)
You did a good job incubating..
Also I was wondering whether instead of buying Bragg's ACV if I could use the kombucha. Does anyone know?
yes you can..

Yesterday was my 1st gluten-free day. I've been cutting down slowly but have actually accomplished one whole day.
good for you..let me know how you feel in a week..I might have to switch over to GF for most of my diet.

Hi to everybody.
Stacie, sorry bought the lost eggs. Sure sucks.

Hope everyone is okay in those crazy weather conditions. We had very strong winds on Monday, a couple if trees came down and the lights flickered for a good half hour. Didn't storm yesterday as forecasted, so we got some more stuff outside done. This morning it rained a bit, now the wind picks up but that's about it.

Our pheasy babies doing good this time around. Running and screaming loudly. Have another batch going into lockdown today and got 3 Pekin eggs in the bator, 1 piped already. Can't wait til end of this month to be done with hatching and big messes inside...

Trying to figure out what to make for dinner for him later. No clue and absolutely no urge to cook at all. Besides, from cleaning out the condos again yesterday my back is hurting, again. Doc will not be happy as he said that it's about as bad as when I started 6 months ago. Not good :( gonna let the bigger ones free range a bit now. Til later then!

good afternoon,

things are quite lively here today..
the guineas I had marked for the 18th are about half hatched already.. I didn't count them, but I transferred 65 eggs into the hatcher.. I think there were 96 eggs to start with.. so that means 31 guineas are in the chick TV..

I got my garden planted only last week.. the corn is up already,, that has to be a record for me.. usually takes about 2 weeks.. but then, I always plant too early in the season otherwise.. I guess I wouldn't lose anything be waiting until it got warmer,, like now..

I can hear a guinea crying,, but I can't tell where the sound is coming from.. I might have dropped one onto the floor and ir might be under the tables ..

I am at a standstill with the tractor hyd,, I have a friend coming to do some welding for me ..
as soon as I get a couple pieces of steel ..

I just located the lost chick.. he was left behind when I took tham out of bator #2..

I will be going out and putting the finer mesh floor into the brooder pens in the chicken coop in a little while.. then I am transferring ALL of these guinea babies out there.. including the newly hatched ones.. and especially that cry baby one..

Oh cloudy day...

Yup, after the sun coming out for quite a bit earlier it is now getting darker and darker here. Might see some rain. Maybe later...

Ducklings are happily outside enjoying the runs, eggs transferred to the hatcher and one duck egg already piped! Must be in a hurry to get out. Lol

Still looking for a darn pullorum tester to come out here. Either they aren't licensed anymore, aren't doing it anymore or don't pick up the dang phone or don't return their calls on the answer machine. SOOO frustrated! Been trying for at least a month now. Grrrr

Gonna have to start directing our younger ones in their respective condos in a bit, take care of the dogs and then might get to chill a bit and relax the darn back. Just wish this humidity would let up some! But I know it will only get worse once it rains/storms again... So long, have a sticky evening everyone!

good afternoon,

Annie just called me and said that Cottage Grove got hit pretty hard by a storm,,
Hen & Roo , are you alright ?
My sister lives in that area, I haven't heard anything from her.. IDK if that is good or bad..

I spent awhile putting the new floor into the brooder pens in the chicken coop.. I ran out of 1/2 inch mesh just about a piece short of complete..

I found some welded "ears" for the loader cylinder mounting brackets.. I have to drive to Mosinee to get them tomorrow..

then I have to go up my road to the steel yard and pick up a couple of pieces of 3/8" x 3 1/2" steel plate..

I might get those coops cleaned out before winter, yet ..

my carrots and beets are up.. I can't believe how quickly the seeds are sprouting this year..
corn is a couple of inches tall already.. I didn't see any beans, yet..

how long does millet take to sprout ? such a tiny seed, should be quite quick ..
