Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I agree with you Cind, which was why we kept passing things up..... I was feeling badly about winning all the time. We should probably limit the # of prizes one can win to make it fair to everyone.

Another muggy morning to all.

Awesome H&R that your dad came home! Hopefully he keeps improving fast!

Nice pics! Somehow I don't seem to get around to upload some. Maybe one of those days when there is rain again. Only having muggy hot days right now. Urgh.

Brat was gone for the night to a friends in La Crosse and will show up again this afternoon. He left behind (again) his (again) very whiny dog. So no rest for the wicked. One more night and the brat should be gone OTR again for 3-4 weeks. Peace and quiet.

The ducklings doing all good, our latest one (crested of all things!) shares the tub with the last pheasant baby. Put 2 piped ones under a broody red golden hen last night. Gonna see how that went.

HAVE to finish the darn duck house today. Get the pieces out of the way and some ducks moved in. Probably gonna sell some of the older juvie ducks at one of the next swaps (Wheaton or Wheeler). Gonna see.

Still can't get a hold of a single tester. Wth are they listed for if no one is wanting to answer or do anything?!? SOOO gonna take the cert next year and be done with that problem then.

Almost ended up with guinea eggs yesterday. Got a crazy collector friend (of birds) who evidently has too much money. Keeps buying birds and eggs, then selling them after a month, trying to give us his "leftovers" or somehow kills some of them unintentionally. Right! Sorry, got enough right now!

Gonna take care of the duckies. Later!

I think I'd like to be a certified tester, too. It would make things a lot easier. And I'm a little concerned about the way I saw them testing the fair birds. They used the same tool to poke every bird and did not sterilize in between each bird or even between different flocks! Seems like a very poor practice that's going to spread disease more than prevent the spread. So, I'd rather do my own.

Cute pictures!

Yep, my dad is very happy/excited to be out of the hospital and said when he woke up this morning it took a bit to remember where he was.

anybody use old blue jeans for crafty items? DH cleaned out a bunch of old/ripped/no longer fit one from his closet.

here are a few pictures of our angora bunnies- they are about 13 weeks now.

Fawn doe- the mother to the babies

Have a good Sunday!

good afternoon,,
I got up early, took GS to work.. had a cuppa at the restaurant, and came home in time to sell 10 chicks and a parakeet ..

the turkey guy did come and get some of the turkeys.. there were 42 when he came.. today there are about 20 more.. a couple of pips still working..

FM's Buff Orp eggs are hatching,, not real good, though.. only 2 so far.. I am going to keep them for him until they don't need heat.. extra $$$..

nice day today.. might grade the driveway while it is still a bit wet.. once it dries, it turns into solid rock .. lots of clay mixed with the granite ..

I found out that the turkey guy paid a buck apiece for the turkey eggs.. by taking so many and picking them up instead of having them shipped ..

there are no eggs available anymore..

crs just kicked in,, I think I need a nap ..

Hi all! I did manage to locate some buff orp chicks, and my three healthy ladies are in the coop and loving the warm weather.
Stoked for eggs sometime in the future!

Sunday Sunless Again....dang weather.... Great news H&R about Dad.....hope he continues to improve. If you don't have any takers for the jeans...Suzies cousin would use them in his llom for making rag rugs....otherwise anyone else that is closer and can use them works better prolly.....I could only get through a train or next years bash if you can attend.

Don't feel guilty Cind...luck of the draw.....refuse the prize if you want...buy more tickets if you want to win......everyone stays for free all weekend....then buy raffle tickets to pay for the weekend.....electric for campers is $15 per night....buy $30 in tickets and you covered your fee...and then if you win some prizes what a deal, eh! It's all about folks donating and buying tickets......OR ...everyone can pay their fee and we can skip the raffle if that seems more fair? Folks that come for the day and don't stay, will still need to help with cost....just the camp is fee is $100 and we need funds for that.... no free lunch....just sayin. Whatever seems best for all...get the wallets out though....it's still as cheap as a weekend like that can get. In my opinion.

Forgot to mention cuties.....my brahma roo is a big gentle giant....keeping the Buckeye roo's locked up while he is out works best....he is not going to fight with anyone...very, very gentle.

Later alligator...bigz

good aft,

turkeys are still hatching.. have to assist once in awhile,, the less robust ones are the last to hatch,, they are OK once out of the shell, but sometimes they do need help..
I think we are around the 60/103 mark.. not bad for turkeys ..

thinking of taking Ollie for a ride.. might try knocking down last year's blackberry canes.. since we are not going to get any berries this year, the patch can stand a little roughing up..

then I am going to try to beat back the encroaching black berries trying to crowd the walkway to the greenhouse..

anyone, if you buy raffle tickets, expect to lose.. If you win a lot of prizes, take them.. I wouldn't have been able to refuse the pizza cutter either..

might I suggest that next year, Do the pizza cutter first ? that way everybody has the same chance as anybody else to win it.. then do the next most sought after item, and so on and so on.
