Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Sunday Sunless Again....dang weather.... Great news H&R about Dad.....hope he continues to improve. If you don't have any takers for the jeans...Suzies cousin would use them in his llom for making rag rugs....otherwise anyone else that is closer and can use them works better prolly.....I could only get through a train or next years bash if you can attend.

Don't feel guilty Cind...luck of the draw.....refuse the prize if you want...buy more tickets if you want to win......everyone stays for free all weekend....then buy raffle tickets to pay for the weekend.....electric for campers is $15 per night....buy $30 in tickets and you covered your fee...and then if you win some prizes what a deal, eh! It's all about folks donating and buying tickets......OR ...everyone can pay their fee and we can skip the raffle if that seems more fair? Folks that come for the day and don't stay, will still need to help with cost....just the camp is fee is $100 and we need funds for that.... no free lunch....just sayin. Whatever seems best for all...get the wallets out though....it's still as cheap as a weekend like that can get. In my opinion.

Forgot to mention cuties.....my brahma roo is a big gentle giant....keeping the Buckeye roo's locked up while he is out works best....he is not going to fight with anyone...very, very gentle.

Later alligator...bigz

100% agree....its the luck of the draw and if you want more chances buy more tickets! I think its a fun way to cover the expenses rather than just everyone paying a set amount. It also allows for people that might be going through a financially tough time to still come and have fun!!!

Jim: Also a good idea!

Cind-I think its neat you won a few nice prizes and maybe you should have headed to the casino after? LOL

good idea , Abubs, and it should be written into the bylaws, that if anybody wins more then 3 drawing prizes, can be immediately excused from camp and sent to the nearest casino ..

taking a break.. I devastated a large portion of the black berries with the loader followed up with the lawn mower.. I will have to give it a few more treatments to make it a walkable path ..

up to about 28 additional turkeys now.. pushing the 70% mark..
still more pips coming along ..

Sunny day here. We had DD11 and DS10 this weekend for a soccer tournament which ended in a tornado warning and a solid wall of rain. Everyone slept in this morning but we got a lot of cleaning done in the house. Poor Theo has been in his house a lot due to the rain so DS10 walked him around and ran with him. DH mowed the lawn. Everyone got their laundry done too. Theo is doing good so far today with the chickens. I have a roo chick that disappeared in the rabbit hole and hasn't come out in 2 days.

World Cup is on...USA vs. Portugal

Hey Jim, that was some good advice !!!! So as we leave the bash to head to the Casino do we stop by you to pick up our Casino cash (money you've stockpiled all year by selling guinea keets, turkeys, parakeets, cockatiels and hatching eggs)

I think that is a good idea. Raffle off the most valued item first etc. Cind don't feel bad ! Your fall had nothing to do with you keeping your winnings.

I also won several items but as mentioned above if you want to win more, spend more which I did. Bought quite a bit and then some more to build up the pot to fix up the window.
I've entered several drawings in my life and spent more than I've won. It is the luck of the draw.

I would have to say the white elephant and raffle is the best part of the bash.... oh wait the good food and great people too... Ah H3LL it's all great. Wouldn't change one thing. Except go with Jims Idea.

Going down to see the neighbors baby goats they brought home today.

Later

Wow what a day. Hot, sunny, humid but luckily not that many skeeters due to all the dragonflies being out!

After sleeping, in the brat showed up (eye rolling smiley here). Of course they both hung out smoking the remaining skeeters away before FINALLY (!!!), after about a good year or so, they both went to work on replacing the upper/lower control arms on my car! No more rattling and clicking going down the road! Woot!

Meanwhile I went ahead to built the remaining walls of the new duck house. Told him I need help and asked his opinion. Him getting offensive again when he can't give me one. Really?! Anyways, the duck house with drawbridge door and side cleaning door is done, roof pieces all cut and just need to be put together and on. The starting rain made the process a lot more difficult towards the end, but almost done! And of course, no one asked if they could help...

Started raining about 6pm and still is. Hope we just get a nice continuous soaking tonight. The ground needs it before the next heat wave.

CS, finally someone knowing else who is watching the FIFA Championship! Although forgive me, I'm rooting for Germany (gotta stick to my own country!).

Got the 3 smaller older Anconas finally moved outside to the others. 3 more Pekins, 4 more Anconas and our little Queenie are inside now. Getting space again! Yeay!

Off to take a well needed shower. Look like a Christmas angel with my hair curling all over the place! Asta luego!

sent 28 turkeys to their new home.. makes 68 .. and two in the hatcher makes 70.. 70% ,, not too shabby ..

potatoes are sprouting pretty good under the straw.. won't be long before they begin to poke up through the straw..

I wish I had a bale chopper/shredder..
