Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Stacy, is she on birth control? What is wrong with people?! The cousin that I've talked about that had fetal alcohol syndrome along with other mental issues is a product of a mother who had 6 kids with 5 different men. One of those kids is semi-normal. The rest are really messed up. The county should offer a cash incentive to people to get sterilized. Think of the money that would be saved on health care and other welfare programs. Get rid of things like the earned income credit. I had to stop working at H&R Block because I was so annoyed with all the people getting $6,000 tax "returns" (wasn't their money in the first place). Then they wanted it NOW, so would get a refund anticipation loan which cost them a ridiculous amount of money. They couldn't wait for up to 2 weeks to save themselves a large chuck of cash? Sorry, I went off on a tangent . . .

Goodness, there are other non-permanent forms of BC available. I know they still do the arm implants, IUD's Depo shots..... sheesh, there is not a PP anywhere nearby to give this stuff away at reduced cost????? Frankly, I would see if the parental rights could be terminated and put that baby up for adoption. And any other baby she produces too. I know that sounds mean but she needs to get her head on straight before she starts having more kids.

Had a phone screen interview today with a local company. It sounds like a nice job; I would rather be in a different industry, but this would do for now.

Went to the school board meeting tonight. Fun fun fun........

That is about it.

Hi All,

Jim.... I should try your Iron pan method again, what type of oil do you use? I've tried it like that with (I think) corn oil and didn't like how it turned out. Glad your "contracted" for 2 more years! lol Hummm.... maybe that's what I should do

cuties.... thanks, I was interested in the color. IDK if I'll get any after finding the nest in such a mess. Not like Jasmine to let it get like that. I think she hatched almost half of the birds I have. She pulled all but 4 into a new nest.

bl4... Nice find! I have a bowl I haven't unpacked yet. I should see if I can find it.

Bbp.... Yea, hope your roo got that thing good! Maybe that's why it hasn't come back yet. Are you still going to set up cameras?

cs... If that little roo comes out alive you should name it Alice! LOL

Sclark.... Hope you and baby don't get too sick. You probably should let Tyler's Doc. know she's been exposed.

Where has TO been? Was thinking she would chime in on the raffle discussion! It the risk of sounding like a Socialist, I just think it's nice to share the wealth. I didn't buy 13 tickets to win (at least not that much) I bought them because $26 in tickets and a pot of German potato salad is a d@mn cheap weekend!

Well, got a couple of thing to do before bed.... Night All!

Well I'm up nice and early, thanks to Theo barking at what I assume was a skunk based on the smell in the air. Jim I have no idea how you sleep through the barking. I am glad he is doing his job, but I just wish I could snore thru like Jim.

Cind- that roo will definitely be named Alice if he comes out of the rabbit hole alive!

Rain, rain go away, come again another day!

I worked on the cast iron all day yesterday. Greased, heated in the oven, cooled...three times. Then I put the big pan on the stove and worked on the inside Jim's way twice. It was looking pretty good so I made supper in it...'homegrown' pork chops. They aren't trimmed as close as store pork so they were a good test. They turned out perfect and along with homemade applesauce and pea pods from the garden supper was a thing of beauty...I should have taken a picture.

Clean up was easy...boiled a little water in the pan and wiped it out. The outside, bottom had a little rust on it so I greased it and back in the oven one more time.

The not washing thing will take a little getting used to cause I'm pretty picky about having a clean kitchen and it just goes against the grain to not put soap in there! I'm sure I'll get used to it though and plan on digging out the rest of the set to clean up and use. Cindlady, I can't imagine doing multiple sets but you're right...patience is the key. Thanks for the help!

My daughter and I had the same thing happen to us about 2 weeks ago, we have set traps and never caught it...killed every single chicken in the coop...we are heart broken and the farm seems so empty without all our beautiful chickens running up to grab something from us...we feel like we let them down :(

Stocking01, how were the birds killed? The better the description of how the birds were killed can help identify your chicken killer. I am sorry for your losses and welcome to the thread.

I think today is going to be the first beach day, it is MUGGY and already 70*. I might have a mutiny on my hands if we do not go to the beach!

CS, I hope you find your roo......

Sorry for your loss. Do you know what it was? Dog? Coon? Sometimes the small predators are the worst...weasels are tough to trap.

With the current state RW control of the legislature and admin, I think there are only 3 PP left open, one of the many things that got swept away....... unfortunately,,,,,

there is hope in the future with the upcoming election in Nov
