Hope mama has a successful hatch of her 5 eggs. This rain has been a bugger . . . so much flooding and saturation. We opened the roof at the end of April thinking the prep would be done by the end of May, so the roofing company could shingle. Well long soggy story short, the roofing company will be starting this weekDiscovered that with half my coop flooding, that one of the 4 nestboxes in brooder must have had pine shavings too high below it and it made the shavings in nestbox damp. Somehow when I felt under the broody hen, she was all damp! Needless to say I have her moved and settled in to a dry clean setup. But I was sure the eggs would be dead. Candled and there is still movement in all 5 of hers! Poor momma!
Working to once again clean out the entire coops bedding, dry out the coop, sprinkle Dry Stall, put down fresh shavings and hope for no more rain!! Keeping in mind the coop is probably 12 ft by 20 ft with a ton of stuff in there to work aroundIm out of shape. There has never been water in there like this! They say this is the wettest spring since late 1800's.

So glad to hear your Dad is doing so much better and didn't need to go to a rehab facility, the healing will be much faster this way.Late eveninghad a very busy end of the week and today. DS(9) had a baseball tourney- played 2 games- lost both games
so they are done. DH and DD and DS(14) were able to make the 2nd game, I didn't see either game... I was at the hospital with my parents......and they released my Dad today
he improved so much over the last week that he didn't need to go to another rehab facility but the doctor's recommended that he and my mom have extra help for awhile yet so that she can get some rest/down time. So they are now staying with us until they are ready to go home...one day at a time is what we tell my dad. His strength and memory are getting better each day. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.![]()
Other than that the grass needs to be mowed so maybe tomorrow.
Have a good one!
I disagree - though I wasn't at the bash so I didn't have a dog in that fight. The more you support the bash with your ticket purchases, the more you are likely to win. That's how a raffle drawing works. (Door prizes are a whole different story.) If others are unhappy because they didn't win anything, they should just buy more tickets. It's all chance and numbers. I figure that I should consider my ticket purchase as a donation - If I win anything, that's just a bonus. If I don't win anything I've still made my donation and that's all I expected in the first place. I don't think there's any need for you to worry about karma and there's no need for anyone to be upset with you for winning more than one prize. Just my humble opinion.
I agree with both comments Irishrovr - what a great way to pay for a fun weekend with like minded folks. I was so disappointed I wasn't able to join in this year and am VERY much looking forward to camping with everyone next year. One of the reasons I donated an item is to help this continue. I also like the idea of a Chinese Auction although I think the idea of auctioning the "hot items" first is good too. By doing that everything will go to a winning ticket. Where as with the Chinese Auction if something does not receive any tickets, what of the prize? Just adding my penny's worth.A "Chinese Auction" is another way to do that. Each prize has a container next to it for the tickets. Write your name on the back of each ticket and drop them in the containers for the things you want/need. The better prizes will have more tickets in them and will be harder to come by and no one will get a prize they really didn't want.

Well need to tend to my girls, they like their evening banana/cheese laced scratch . . . oh such spoiled hens
