Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Jim, I do think men will start thinking different about "women's work" water carrying if all the cuppa's and warm meals get canceled and the dishes start piling up til you got flies and maggots all over... Wanna try?!?

And cs, what were you saying about the States and soccer? ;) WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!! Woot!

Btw, just went outside and guess what I found??? My sitting Rouen finally made it!!! Yeay!

4 cute little pokers under her, and probably more to go!

World cup was great but a rather boring end.

put the pot on,   coffee is always better when somebody else makes it..

lately, every time we poured concrete, it started to rain just as we were finishing up.. so, why should today be any different .?  it is raining,,  I did go out and do the final touch up..  and the chickens did manage to step into it, even with a barrier around it..

I would make you some coffee but you are spook far away.
You forgot shoveling the snow, mowing the lawn, washing the outside of the windows, stacking firewood, and chopping it if needed..

..........jiminwisc.........

I too did all of that...and while I was pregnant!

Spent a nice day visiting BigFam and her kiddos; yes the cupcakes were for her! I have pictures but not on the LT.

Since I was down there with my own brood, we took a side trip to Devil's Lake State Park. I wish I could have spent all day there! I would have loved to go hiking...... I suppose I should try out High Cliff first, that one is just on the other side of Appleton.

Such a nice day, but nice to be back home too.

I love Devils Lake! went there while I was in college.

I was in WI visiting the new place over the 4th. Wow, didn't know how much I missed it until I was there for a week.
DH now has the cats for company, only they are hidden somewhere in the house. He knows they are there, the food is getting eaten and the litterbox filled!

poor guy, he is so lonely without me and now he says the cats hate him. I try to explain they are just timid in new places, took them a week to settle down when we moved them out to WY, and that was with me, their favorite human, being with them.
It was alittle hot and humid for my pooch. He was missing his sheep tank of water to cool off in, so I went in search of something he could soak his feet in. DH said, we bought a farm, there should be a tank for him here...
All I could find was a 24" saucer for a planter. Figured a couple of inches of water is better than nothing and he would soak his feet.

But no, he wanted to soak ...

He almost fit. :)

Well Jim looks like I'm doing another go of guineas. Neighbor brought over 2 1/2 dozen Saturday night a hen left the nest, out of those I have 18 that look fertile and live yet. Then yesterday brought over another 90 as she had the neighbor house sit and didn't follow the instructions of only letting in 4 hens and leaving the other 2 on their nests and they went overnight with no heat. I've had them in the incubator all day and looks like over half were killed but some look to be still alive but could die in the next day or so. The first nest was near hatching so I have them in one bator at 70% humidity and the others are only about half formed so are in the other on the turner yet. I'll candle them in a few days and see how they look.

I have so many chicks here, sold 50 of my layers Monday and still have 17 of that hatch left. I just set another 14 dozen in lockdown lastnight, I sure hope they hatch by the Friday so I can take them to the swap Saturday as I'm going on vacation on Sunday to Kentucky for a few days. Had another 20 BLRW hatch, over 1/3 are Splash this batch. I ended up with only 2 Lav Orp, one Lav and the other Black Split. A dozen more Speckled Sussex with only 5 left now with the broodies. Something keeps nabbing chicks and I've been so busy with everything else I forgot to grab them and bring in house with the other hatches. Three Lav Orp EE all Lav colored, sold 2 Saturday along with 1 SS and 1 BLRW to a return customer. Only 5 Cochin Bantams but they sure are cute and feathered legs nicely. Also 4 BLRW EE, these will join 37 month old Layer/meat chicks, 15 BLRW & 4 BLRW EE 2 months old, 3 BLRW 2 weeks old, 2 BO 7 BLRW 3 BOxMaran 4 BLRW EE 3 F2 Silkie/Cochin x SS(if they turn out the way I want I'll have to find a name for them) and 5 Guineas to take to the swap with a grand total of 147 before the layers hatch.

Well had to take Anellia in the night clinic in Barron as I picked her up from visitation with a fever and the last visit she came home with spots that I was sure were chicken pox, sure enough she has them. Which is why I'm awake, had to get her up to give her Tylenol for fever. Have to take her back in to primary dr to confirm in the am. Hope she gets over them before our visitation or it may be a little less pleasant. No visits for the rest of the week and I have next week off for vacation so it will be a nice break of driving to Chippewa and back 4 times a week. Hurray!

No work on garage today, came home from dropping Anellia off, sat in chair to eat some toast and fell asleep, I haven't been feeling so well myself, hope I'm not getting sick too.

Hope your getting all ready for Saturday Sammie, I plan on loading up the small chicken coop on trailer and bringing it alot to sell. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to fit all these chicks in my Jeep as I don't normally keep the chicks for 2 months or even 1 month at that. They will sell nicely though as they are all off heat and everyone loves that.

Hello Chicken Friends...... Finally taking some time to post. I've run out of Data on my phone plan and added some more so I can post but I think I may have used that up too !!! One more day til my new month begins.

So just a quick update.... I have ducklings popping like pop corn !!! They are hatching out from under my Magpies and Muscovies (need to learn how to spell that lol) and some from under my Rouen hen. I'm sure there are purebred Muscovies and for pretty sure Magpies but the Rouen hen's are most likely Rouen/Muscovey.

No gooslings yet but have one sitting on eggs and another Rouen sitting on eggs that are either crossed with Rouen or Runner !!!

Have 7 mixed breed chicks that hatched. Had one that was possibly a lavender Ameracauna cross but ET stepped on it !!!

Four baby guineas so far. Now I need to decide if I let mother take care of them or do I set up a Chick TV ?

Don't know when or why ET decided not to collect Eggs and I didn't want to sell possibly developing eggs so I just let them set !!!! Think I'll be paying the price for that decision !!! Babies everywhere !

My little Grand Niece Addie was up at the family cottage and came over to see her new pony !!! She really liked the ducks and piggies too ! God I love that little girl !

Well that's it for tonight.... I think I'm racking up a nice big cell phone bill that I'll have to call about !!! Have no idea what has sucked up the data the last few days.

Hope all is well with everyone. I'm to far behind to catch up tonight.

Night !

Hi All!

SClark... sure hope little Anellia gets better soon... but not too soon. My kids would get them short and light and wound up getting the 2 or 3 times!

I hope I get help today (Wed.) with the coop. I need to get the broody hen that's been hiding in the loft down and all the eggs that are scattered around up there. Some are getting stinky! Besides, I've just barely been making egg orders. I need those hens to lay where I can get them! Last week by the time I filled orders we had 3 small eggs left for us!

Guess I should try to crash early..... Night All!
