Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi All!

Interesting conversation today.

We got lucky with the weather, a little rain but no hail. We just caught the edge of it I guess.

Night All!

Jim, we all know better! You would never be happy in town! Sure, you like to stop for a cuppa and charm at the cafe. But you couldn't live there just yet ;)
off for camping this afternoon. Wish our stay at home animals some luck!

Good morning all, sorry to start my conversation off with a gross topic, but I need help.
1- the chickens were just up here by the house and I went out with the dog and noticed a fresh pile of poo MOVING!
2- they were small, white and round (resembled maggots)
3- what are they and how do I treat and prevent. I have 6adults and 4 that are almost 3 months.

I did a search here on the site but don't know what I'm treating and know that you guys have accurate and trust worthy information.

Thank you !

Also..... Are the eggs ok to eat? I haven't noticed anything different about them but I can't help but feel a bit grossed out. I understand they've likely been the a while but still.
:sick
I will probably have to throw away the eggs after treatment too, right ?

good morning,

feeding is all done..

no cuppa yet. \

I do think I am ready to retire.. when I sell this place, I hope the people have kids and animals.
It is all set up nice for the next guy..

In town, I could probably pay my rent with the gas money I save ..

I have to fix the leg on the plucker, and then pick up all the scrap wood that I created in the small jobs I did..
I have two cherry trees that died .. I will see if I can pull the stumps out with the loader.
I think I should run through the garden again with the tiller..
See ? lots of projects left..

prolly round worms ?
go to Fleet or one of the farm stores close to you and ask for some chicken de-wormer..
lots of times one wormer takes care of multiple worms.. more than likely you just have the common ones and in a day or so they should be gone..
just follow the directions on the package/bottle..

it will tell you if you need to toss the eggs..

up to now, the eggs are OK to use.. the worms are intestinal, ..

however I would wash the eggs when I collected them,,

according to what people post on here, central wisconsin is a pretty broad area ..

BR and RIR pullets hatched early May should start laying Halloween at the latest right? Can't wait!!!!!!

seems like this site is abandoned,,
I think I will quit posting , too..

I managed to get the two cherry trees removed.. they have quite a root system,, not deep, but spreading like a spider ..
