Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cind..I agree nice looking pens . Where'd you get the Ostrich feathers from?
Amy are you keeping any ducks? You have such a nice pond.

Hi All!

The feathers came from China, almost all the feathers you buy now days go through China one way or another. Not that I'm happy about it, but I have to buy at the best prices I can. The U.S. stores get them from China too. The Turkey Quills I get are mostly domestic though.

My daughter is taking me shopping at the Goodwill in McHenery and then out for supper for my birthday

Welcome Eagleeye!
fuxi, I would be proud too!
cind.... happy birthday! !!!!!!
Well, Thunder got pretty spooked yesterday. Both kiddos were riding. And the neighbors were running their flat bed truck. I don't know why. But for a few hours every day they run it and rev it up. Well the kids were riding alone. I was at the side of the field. And that truck backfired. Thunder jumped. But then just held totally still. Blake lost his balance just enough that he slowly slipped off. He grabbed syd on the way. They both fell in slow motion! Everybody was just fine. A little shook. But not hurt. Blake cried. He says he was afraid the neighbors were shooting their guns at them. Awww. They got right back on. And I walked Thunder until all was calm again. Wheew
chickens are very well. I am going to have to catch the tom turkey and give him a dunk in the pond. He jumped at Blake last night. He has been following us too close for comfort lately. And I could tell it was coming. I will wait for a warm day so he doesn't catch the cold. We have the last batch hatching now. And hopefully that will be about it for the year. I think we will need to put heat in the coop this year!
miss my kiddos.ntired of 12's. Thank goodness this is the last day this week!!

Happyfridaytoall:)

good cool early autumn morning,, Cooties,

do you have any guns ? sounds like Thunder needs some noise therapy ..
start out with a BB gun and work your way up to louder ones.. It should take only one session of maybe an hour or two.. It is normal for a horse or a human to be startled like that,, and he did not bolt and run, so that is a good thing..

I would make it a point to ride him when the neighbors are playing "rev your motors"..

the new dog; Frances,, we call her Frankie, is doing just great..

........jiminwisc,,,,,,,,,

Jim, still holding out for Dora.

Good for you Cuties for getting those kids back in the saddle!

DH was in Milwaukee yesterday for some work training, and his boss decided he would take the guys to the Brewer game. That was the most eventful baseball game he has ever been to! Scary stuff! When he sent me a txt telling me about the batter getting hit in the face by the pitcher, I expected to hear the very worst; glad to hear he will recover.

Nothing else to report here.

okay, need some help...have a turner for the incubator and trying to change the racks to the ones for quail eggs.....

BTW--happy b-day- Jim and Cindlady

wee.gif

thank you,,

I assume you mean the turner in a LG or Hova ?

basically you have to disassemble it.. do one tray at a time.. if you can..

you might have to loosen the next one to fasten the first one in..

mark the holes in the push rod so you get the pegs into the proper holes,,

and don't force anything,, those cam arms break off very easily ..
