Just outside of Waupaca on 54, heading West towards Plover.

Just met Amyable for lunch in Waupaca, she was waiting for her birds to be processed at Sonday.

Boiling up a ham hock today for soup. Making a barley veg I think..... I should make some biscuits or bread to go with it but I am wiped out from the migraine I had last night/this morning......

hope you feel better...migraines are no fun, my vision goes when I get them and where ever I happen to be I have to stay there until it clears enough to see.

So our main TV died last week...not sure what model we will replace it with...the kids are patiently waiting...not!

finished cutting our grass today....it could be raked up...probably have to cut it again just to take care of the piles of grass

3 of our French Angora rabbits went to their new homes today...their fur will be used for spinning once combed off.

still trying to get caught up on work...not so crazy this week, hoping to have another rental clean and ready to go.

waiting for DD to let us know she is heading back to school so we can pick her up...she is playing volleyball this fall

started the incubator again...quail eggs and 1 modern game egg

have a good one!

Ty for the link made an appointment for Halloween LOL, now I can stop worrying about 1 thing anyway....

So everything here is good, too many chickens all doing good, still have most of my old hens most no longer laying, but they have earned a place of retirement here until they pass on. Hatched 2 batches this year, sold a few have the rest.... 7 new layers in one batch and 5 in the next, plus I grabbed a couple BSL from TSC in April.........too many roo's 15 to get chopped,.hence why I needed a butcher. Still home only a couple times a month, sometimes 4 or 5 days to catch up. Been all over, stranded in Texas over the Labor day weekend, broke down truck. Still need several east coast runs to see Maine, Vermont, and NH, Connecticut, Virgina, also need to see, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. We still have our borders, who take care of critters when we are gone.
Horses are doing good, tho I think they have sprouted gills this year since our pastures have been so wet, gonna be a bad hay year around here, thanks too all this water.... alittle worried about winter.....I have a supplier but not sure if he will have enough quality hay...as he is still trying to finish 2nd crop,.so cross your fingers or let me know if anyone has extra NO mold Hay. Prefer alfalfa grass mix.
Puppies are no longer puppies they are huge, Bear weighs 135lbs, and Max is just under. Bear had to have some crazy dew claws removed. then they had there 3 year rabies, Lost our old (14 almost 15) Shepard mix gidget day after Christmas last. Had her in our shed till the thaw so she could be barried here with the rest of our lost critters. Lost 3 older hens since last fall. No symptoms just find em doa in the nest box or under a tree. sure wish chickens could tell you when they were sick. Man if I die and someone else ever digs up my yard they will think the crazy animal lady lived here.
Gonna finally cut my main rooster Gray Beard from the Herd. hes given me so many nice girls I have no one left for his breeding pen, so gotta get me a new EE next year or keep one of these boys??? not sure what I'm gonna do. Except have 1 tough old stew chicken in my freezer. I think he is 3 or 4, 1 of my first chickens. I'm also gonna have to replace my Midget white Tom, the one I have spends all day chasing anyone who wanders outside, instead of breeding his girls, so no turkey babies this year, plus Anns hubby is afraid of him, so he is our Turkey day Supper. My MW hens are great I have had broody turkeys at different times all summer, ones trying to set now again. I haven't seen that tom on any of em since way early spring. Maybe I'll get a Royal Palm instead Jims turkeys were beautiful when we were up there. and I think they were good breeders.
So that is newest /oldest news that's been going on around here....... Later ppls.....Kim

Hi All!

Found the broody turkey, once I knocked down the huge burdock bush she wasn't that hard to find. Didn't move her, maybe tomorrow I'll take a peek, if any eggs were good they should have hatched by now.

Night All!

They did a really nice job and reasonable price too. I wish it wasn't an hour from me, but hey got to hang out with BL4 a couple hours. :) Oh, Cindy, BL4 jumped quick and claimed the pullets. Wish I had more to offer. No, I'm not keeping any ducks. Actually, I'm getting out of birds altogether for a while. It's just too much with a house full of little ones, I can't keep up with the important things. Half out of commission due to a bout of bronchitis this week too, blah.

I see Jim got a new dog - purdy!

Yes, Judi (Angiebubs) and I are driving down together. And we were just saying that we should make reservations at the Mexican Restaurant. So, if everyone could post who wants to meet for dinner (maybe 5 pm?) I will add names to the list as we go.

So, I'll make reservations for 12. Judi and I have a 3+ hr. drive, so we won't be able to make it to lunch. Would dinner at 6 work for everyone?

good morning,
I sold all of my young roosters last night,, turned out to be 10 of them..

today I have to try to round up 30 of the largest guineas.. they are the ones who sleep in the pine tree, so I will be going out in a few minutes to try to push them into the coop as they land out of the tree..

If all goes well, I will be going to the truck stop for breakfast.. some of the retirees from the phone company meet there .. I did not retire from the phone company, but I worked there for 6 years so I know many of the people,, besides, they are as old or older than I am, so they won't remember if I retired or not ..
