Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi All!

Jim, I didn't go to bed, just had a bunch of housework to do and didn't check back before bed. I'll have to remember to do that.

Well Jim, It's after 4 a.m., a couple hands of computer cribbage and it off to sleep (I hope) for me.

Night All!
I woke up at 2AM,, but didn't want to get up,, I forced myself to stay in bed,, It must have worked because I woke up at 6..

before I got up I mentally figured out the procedure that I will use for notching the legs..
want to know what it is ? notch top, notch bottom , glue on spacer, saw to rough width, add end cap board, saw it to width, plane everything to the finished dimensions.. glue on top cap, glue on bottom cap, sand everything smooth and route the edges round...

If I get that all finished in 2 days I will be a happy camper..

good thing the pack took that big lead.. they sure used it up coasting to the finish line..
bro Dave was at the game,, I'll bet he was just as drained at the end as I was..

puppies eyes are not open yet, but getting closer ..
I like to pick one up and hold it,, they snuggle in and go to sleep so nice ..

I love puppies..

Maybe net year we will breed cookie. I want her to be a good LGD with the chickens before I do so she can teach and train her pups to be good with chickens. Many people could use a good LGD pup that has some trainning.

Nice Winter day again. I sure hope this nice winter weather keeps going and going....

I'll have to check their weight Vicki....but I know for sure that they are less than the standard 9lb for cocks....prolly my oldest roo is 9, but my young roo is less I'm thinkin.....I'll let you know what I come up with....3rd at the nationals is worth working on size for sure...you did good!

Snow slid off the roof today...dang that is a lot of snow to remove from the overhead garage door.
Heavy snow for sure.

Enjoy this mild weather while we have it here.

The fish are biting on the local pond, prolly time to collect some gills.

I am done for the day,, have 4 legs glued and setting,, got farther today than I planned.
can't find my rasp. have a couple of them,, haven't used them for years, so no telling how deep they are buried in the mess.. BUT, whenever I am looking for a file, all I can find are the rasps..

Here is a tip for you who glue,, good surgical gloves.. like the visiting nurses use,, Annie has boxes of them here,, keeps the glue off your hands like a charm,,
I use Gorilla glue,, if you get it on your hands, you will have it on your hands for a couple of days,,
with these gloves, I can actually smear small amounts of glue with my fingers..

My brother was at the bar the other night talking to a random guy. Turns out he is my neighbor's ex-husband. My brother brought up the chicken killing. He said there's no way that dog killed the chickens and that it was a wild animal! He basically said it's not possible he's a "good, smart dog" and I'm just trying to blame him!

Also, a friend gave me another mixed breed bantam hen with chicks. I noticed last night that she has terrible leg mites. I put vetrx on it before bed. This morning I wanted to dip her feet in gas, let dry, then coat in A &D ointment. Well, I had neither of those things. So I doused her feet in WD40, let her sit outside by herself for 20 mins, then coated her legs in Watkins clover salve. I also removed a bunch of big, yellow, crusty chunks off of her feet. Poor chicken :( I wonder if all of his chickens are suffering with these mites. The reason I noticed she had them is because she kept grabbing at her feet with her beak.
