Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

morning everyone..its ten degrees here...going out to the pens to keep working...check out the progress below in blue...
thanks again..n have a nice day
thanks for all the support..

Off to IL for the week, I have two interviews and the possibility for another so it just makes sense to stay there.

Picked up the Christmas tree yesterday, and now it is time to get the decorations up.

BigZ, I have to say this is the best tasting deer we have ever had. I made stew a few nights ago and it was some of the most tender meat I have ever had. Very mild flavor, you could barely tell it was venison.

Made cinnamon rolls this morning for the family, and then decided to wash the dogs and all their bedding. It has been a busy day!

One other thing; my cousin is MOVING to WI! Any suggestions on chicken breeds for beginners would be appreciated. She is looking forward to moving from the burbs to her 5 acre paradise!

Yep, I'll second that on the Bucks...I've had them here now for almost 10 years. They really Winter well and are very gentle in regards to the roo's....I've never been attacked by a roo, even during the Spring season when it's most likely to happen. I've just kept going with them because they were worth keeping....good layers of light brown eggs too.

Good to hear that you are enjoying your venzun babylady.....it truly is fun doing your own meat !

Hope everyone is doing well....

what kind of fasteners are you using to attach the wire ?
If you are using those 3/4 inch staples, use a needle nose plier to hold them instead of your fingers.

i have a 1/4 inch air stapler that I use on finer wire .. ie ,, chicken wire, and wire cloth,

good idea jim...thanks..i will make sure to use them...didnt cross my mind...didnt have any issue till i got to the 40 ft wall...kinda hard to hold that long of a piece and staple

I do most of my projects myself also..

drive a couple of nails along the top and hang the wire temporarily ,, after is is stapled in, remove the nails ..
