Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Close Call Jim. it would be tough walking on stilts around Wi now for sure.
Thanks for sharing Irish....and also the other pics cuties..so reminds me of our shorthair babe...more often called baby girl's...

Warm enough that the snow is a sliding off the steel roof today...dang...guess who has to shovel the extra heavy white stuff?

The fire went out in the boiler today...one has to love the break in the weather for sure! I'll start a new one later for a toasty house tonight.

Time to go shovel some heavy stuff...

yup, our metal roof gave us an avalanche today, too.. really makes a racket when it is all sliding at once.. the north side of the house needs warmer weather before it lets go..
I don't have to shovel it,, it lands harmlessly on the lawn ..

Yep, I can appreciate the definition of gable ends once one has steel roofs...funny how hind sight can be so educating and perfect, eh! Next storage building will have gable doors on both ends, making drive through easy, peasy , for equipment and the ability to hook the boat and go!

Chicks hatching, have 13/14 so far. Pics probably tomorrow. My phone is not letting me upload today. Ducklings are doing great. Opened up the coops today but no one was brave enough to come out. Try again this weekend. Also moving all the cockerels out of the house and into the brooder in the new coop sometime this weekend. They are getting 3 months old and taking up much needed room for new chicks and more coming this month.

Drinking my nasty colon prep for my colonoscopy & EGD tomorrow, not looking forward to this but much needed. Praying that the tumor didn't come back and theirs a less harsh reason for all the issues.

I'll think about your offer huntress...although I need to hatch out more Bucks for sure....I'll let you know if I decide to help you out....It is really easy to work with only one breed, and I'm lazy that way lately.
The Gold (partridge) are on their way to being a recognized variety. I know that you know what a good Brahma looks like so you would be a huge asset in helping them along.
It's taken me four years to acquire the stock I have and even though there are problems with both strains I can see potential show birds there. Because of the investment (time and money) that I have in these, they are my pet project and I'd love to see them go all the way to acceptance.
I'll try to send you some pictures this weekend. You can take a look and think about it.

The other colors need much work to get to good type. The BLR are probably the closest and there is some good stock out there for improvement. It would be a nice project for someone younger than me to work on as it would still be a many year commitment to get them to show type.

Morning all!

Been very busy this morning so far. Watered and fed everyone, let them out, got the eggs, smashed the ice on the kiddie pools, took care of the dogs, set up a pen and separated my khaki pair. Also brought in a few armfuls of fire sticks (can't call that stuff firewood really).
Now just on to figuring out breeding pens for the others, or how to separate them up in breeds. Oh the brain cells needed for this...!

Fixed a friends puter last night from not showing anything to fully working. Had to remove first 3 Trojans, 57 other threats. Ran it with another software and found a total of 2458 (!!!) infections. Man, can't people just ask a friend for help instead of letting everything go to *****?!?

would save a LOT of time and work. And nerve damage...

Anyways, all animals do good, enjoying the warm temps (just doing chores in only a sweater!!!) but not looking forward to getting more snow all next week. Argh.

Oki gonna see what else I can come up with to do some much needed separation. Probably gonna start with marking the groups by where they came from (if same breed). Decisions, decisions!

Hope all goes well for Ur doc appointment tomorrow Stacy! And glad so many chicks hatched! Almost at 100% hatch rate on that one too. Man, my eggs are good. Lol.
Post some pics when ur phone decides to work again.

Oki gonna head out again. Later all!

good day,

one puppy just left for her new home in Stevens Point.. 3 left to go..

Mel, if I lived at your house, I would weigh twice as much as I do now..

My printer is still not fixed OR replaced.. so much for waiting for others to do things ..

I have been waiting to print the recipe for a bread I want to try.. might as well just get out my note pad and a pencil and copy it down..

want to make a batch of sloppy Joe's ..

plowed everything yesterday,, might take the tractor down to the neighbor's and clean out around their mailbox..
