everyone!

Welcome Elmo....if your coop is going to be in the full summer sun, I would be sure it is insulated with plenty of windows for a cross breeze....it will allow the coop to cool down in the evenings. I think birds can tolerate the cold better than the heat, as long as they have a draft free, dry environment, and plenty to drink...just my thought. The closer to the house, the better...mine are farther from the house than most folks, and the winter paths are prolly 40 to 45 yards.

Peace...bigz

Excellent advice as always, Bigz. All the advice I read so far sounds spot on to me. Good luck with your silkies, Elmo. Delisha has some beautiful birds.

CC IS sensitive, that's why she cries when I've got better come backs than she does. Sometimes you just have to accept the inevitable: she can run me over and my mouth is going to be running the entire time she is! I can accept she can drink me under a table, that's for darn sure!

Chicken update: I have been thinking of getting rid of all the birds. I've got the kids on a chore schedule and make them do it, so I rarely see the birds. But I won't get rid of Georgie, so then I need a friend for her. And if I keep an egg layer as a friend, then one egg layer isn't enough for food so I need a few more just for that reason. So essentially it's all Jim's fault and Psycho's (you all remember her?! I had to save Georgie from her) that I can't get rid of the birds! But I really do need to just kill off the free loading non-layers. However I feel bad because they are good girls even if just eating machines.

Hey Unk... The only thing that hatched and survived from those eggs is a Olive Egger roo. You want him back??!

I'm ready for Spring even more. First the SO gets pneumonia, then I get slapped with bronchitis. Haven't been sick for years and then this nonsense. The only good thing is we got to the bottom of everything and now I can be on the mend so I can get back to my critters more. Just feeding and watering isn't enough :) We need our quality time hehe

Cuties will not come to the dark side and join FB....... she is too chicken.

Eventful night last night. My sister's 12 yr old Pom passed away, and it was NOT pretty. He was in congestive heart failure and since he had fluid buildup in his lungs, when he passed he coughed up a LOT of blood. I am grateful her kids were not there to see all of that.

That is it for now.
