Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I walked all morning and found the hussy. I hope she is not bred. She still has so much blood and is only her first week of bleeding. She is not even all the way swollen. I hope it was just a pre date. In any event I will take her to get xrayed in two weeks to see if she is pg. If she is I will get her fixed. Joe said no but I am not going to listen to him. I would take her in now but he is being a bit of a butt head..to say it nicely. I put her into a pen she cant get out of and Joe is flipping a brick.

I didn't read far enough.... so glad you found her!

Hi All!

Deli... Glad you found Cookie, hope she's not knocked up. You know you have support here if you need it. Lots of people willing to help.

Nothing new.... night all.

good morning,
yeah, we have plenty of snow here,, if you want some, come with a trailer and I can fill it up for you,,
Yesterday, I was looking at the snow piles I have pushed off of the driveway ,, there really isn't very much compared to other years.. even last year we had five times the snow piled up ..

Annie is looking through chicken catalogs..
keeps handing them to me to "check out this one"..
I told her that I would buy some Cornish X, but they were going to be kept in the chicken yard.. No free ranging for them,,
If Ken wants to toss out bread cubes, he can walk the 100 feet to the yard.
the exercise will do him good, if it doesn't kill him,,

Annie misses the convenience of walking to the coop whenever she needs an egg..

do you have any idea of what kind of dog bred Cookie ?
mutts can still be sold for $50.oo..
hopefully she won't have too many,,

however her mother consistently had 9 each time..
and she had 13 for her first time, (before we got her)

I loves those puppies.

Thank you all for words of encouragement and prayers..much appreciated and needed.
. I do not think cookie is bred, she is now in the drops of blood stage. Too early for breeding. I am still working on Joe to get her in for spaying. He is one persistent person and not budging. The battle continues. I let cookie out of the lock up since I could not stand Joes pain of her confinement and his constant badgering about me being cruel and abusive. He does not get it that the dog is going to escape again when she is ready for breeding I am afraid. I have fixed the fence in the place she went over and a few other places she might also go over. I just hope I have done enough. Driving stakes in a frozen ground is not a picnic. It must have taken me an hour a post. I found some lost muscles and they are screaming today. lol

Puppies are beautiful Jim, and as far as cookies hook up friend, I never saw the dog, just the foot prints. I did go down the tracks and follow the prints the next morning and I do know where the dog lives. I might have to pay a visit to find out. The prints were much smaller then Cookies and I was relieved they were not Coyote prints she followed. The Coyote sing almost every night here and I was terrified that one called her out so the rest could kill her.

I'm sorry if I am out of line here but if Joe doesn't want her spayed or confined, maybe he should be out there helping fix fence. In our house, no work invested then no say in how it goes down.

Newest ducklings that hatched yesterday and day before. 5/6 this batch with 4 females and one male.

Woke up to my first successful Snowflake Bobwhite Quail to hatch.

Me and grand baby rocking away watching Curious George and who comes along to make a short visit before b-lining to the dog dish for a few bites. She must of smelt it my Miss Lady. She survived the mink attack with losing her left eye. I'd say she's feeling pretty good making it all the way into the house from the addition.

Btw, if anyone is looking for kittens I have 2 shown in photo. One closest to Lady is a male(Chevelle) one in back is female(Chevette) looking for a nice home. May also have a black/white female same litter just not in photo if my daughter doesn't take her soon. Too many cats my daughter dumped on me, kids always seem to do that to me knowing I'm an animal lover and can't say no...EVER..

I have 3 Iowa Blues in lockdown right now to hopefully hatch. I had others but they quit part way thru incubation. This coming week my shipped eggs and neighbors out of my last years stock are due to hatch on Tues/Wed so we'll see just how that goes. Of the 10 New Hampshires, I have 6 growing strong but the no BLRW Bantams even started. I think one Chocolate Wyandotte Bantam and 3 Buff Brahma Bantams are growing out of 35 eggs set. Main reason I think those eggs didn't grow is the P.O. lost the package for 2 days somewhere between St Paul and here. Working on filing a claim against them but doubt it will go thru. They always seem to have an excuse as to why it's not their fault.

So, my nephew passed in December and my brother has decided to move to Alaska. Now yesterday my grandma died due to the strokes she's been having. She was basically a mother to my other brother. So, he's out of here to. He's moving to Colorado in May. His girlfriend is all lined up to start on her Master's degree there. Jon, my husband, worked in CO for 3 summers and did well. We even considered moving there. Now he's asking if we can just spend the summer there. So, I need to exercise self control and not add any additional animals to my zoo. I can board the horses, and bring the dog and maybe one cat with. I know I can move a pen of ducks and/or bantams to a friend's. Please remind me that I cannot have any more responsibilities if I start talking crazy on here about getting more chickens!
