Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I warned Judi and Stacy, but didn't think of anyone else. I know the guys that do the cockfighting. They've been doing it for at least the past 15 years. They have multiple locations that they keep these birds. At least two of the places have MAJOR respiratory disease. They keep these birds on Oxytetracycline and I recommended Tylan, so possibly that. They've asked me to raise birds for them but I wouldn't come near their breeding stock, ever! Be.careful if you take any or know anybody that does.

How awful, SC! I hope you get them all sorted out quickly!

When we lived in WV we had hillbilly neighbors who raised fighting cocks in their back yard. Since they didn't actually fight them on site no one could get them shut down. Aiiii! The racket from that place was terrible!

Yvette, these birds did not come from the cockfighting ring. Actually all of those 126 birds that were seized went back to Madison were in good health. I did inform the Rescue about what you had said about the respiratory problems and recommended that they send in some blood samples to the state lab for testing.

These birds came from Carol Anderson Tracy I think someone said her name on here is WIchickchook or something like that. Just want to make things clear. I wasn't able to go down to pick them up last Saturday as I was working with the Rescue on the other matter so a friend of mine went down to get these birds. Carol had to move abruptly and couldn't take the birds with her so posted an ad on FB to rehome them.

Happier news: construction of the chicken tractor is underway!

It will not be "level" or "square" or any silly stuff like that, I just want a structure that can keep chickens on the inside and raccoons on the outside.

I knew you meant her birds were the sick ones. But since I knew the Benitez birds were heading to Madison, I wanted to give everyone a heads up. Its nice to help the poor things out, but not at the expense of your other chickens. Better to be safe than sorry.

I found a home for the tortoise today :) So, now I got my counter back for my incubators. I think I need to invest in a cabinet incubator. This was poor planning. I've finally decided to part with my LG. I won't ever use it again. And I want the new Ova Easy 100 Maybe it will go on sale. I'd pay $850, but no more. lol https://www.brinsea.com/p-551-ova-easy-100-advance-series-ii-cabinet-incubator.aspx

Hi All!

To be fair (and I didn't know her well enough to take sides), could it be that some tragedy happen in Carol's life that things, including her birds, went down hill? She might not have been on lately because of it. Just saying.

Nothing new here.... Night All!

Good morning all :)
we traveled south yesterday and got Syd some new silkies! We now have lots of color. Not just white.
She is in love with them.
And Blake wound up getting two Welsh Harlaquin ducks. He is very happy with them.
hope you are all having a good weekend!

Del, thinking of you and hoping all is well.
