Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

as I said earlier, according to the "rules" any bird leaving your property alive, should be tested,,

so if you sell on craig's list and someone comes and buys your birds,,
they are "leaving your property" and therefore should be tested,,

I wonder, what if your chickens wander onto your neighbor's property ??

the word "honesty" was brought up,, I just wonder about some people who do their own testing,, I do not have any doubt that if their own birds test positive, that they will not put that on the paperwork ..

IMHO , this whole thing is not worth worrying about ..

coonhound....you could always give them away and receive a gift card...that way you are not selling them....

question about broilers....can you keep some to breed and raise the offspring....i heard you shouldnt do this...

selling them, giving them away,, they are leaving your property,, same/same,,

broilers are hybrids,, there is no advantage to breeding them.. If you meant cornish X rocks..

I once kept some for just egg laying,, they were OK for that,, but still, you would be farther ahead to get egg layers ..

I'll deal with them how I deal with them when I deal with them lol. And they don't all have names ;) the ones that do will die here and not by my hands unless necessary. Same as my sheep. Nothing wrong with loving my animals :) my birds leave my property all the time, dang little rule breakers lol especially when the ducks fly circles around our farm. Naughty naughty. Not today of course, too dang cold!

Windy cold afternoon to all... I know some folks on here are up on the rules to showing and moving your birds...I saw you lurking H&R and maybe you can help here....but I do know that you can raise your meat birds and take them to the processers without a problem..... before I say the wrong thing, I'm lazy and maybe someone in the know will chime in. Yep, selling eggs has become a more friendly endeavor for those that want to sell eggs.

Nighties! TerriO
You're telling me. DH found a weasel in the coop today. Thankfully he only got 1 bird, a rooster. Whew! But I am sure he will be back for secondzies.
