BigZ keeps yakking about FFF, so tonight I made homemade deep fried beer battered tilapia.

It was lovely.

I've had good tilapia and bad tilapia; bad tilapia makes you never eat it again.
It wasn't spoiled, it was just bad tasting.

Congrats on the birth of life H&R, and also on the great FFF that you pulled off bl4. It is way cheaper eating at home for sure, and can be more fun.

I'm a fish lover and expect it to have flavor....some better than others....some different than others. I enjoy all the different textures and difference between them all. Some folks think walleye are so special....however, they are bland and ok and perch or bluegill or northern, get a high five here.

Some of the commercial fish are raised in ocean pens giving them the kinda dirty flavor...or pellet feed flavor somewhat....I don't mind it as much as some folks do... that's just me.

Get the shorts out, the heat wave is approaching...don't forget to dust off those sandals Jim.

Thanks guys- it is sure a learning experience for us all. DD and I were on hand with the doe when she kidded and helped get him dried off given the cold temps.

Busy day here- DD is taking part in Solo and Ensemble which thankfully is hosted by her school so not far to travel. She takes part in 3 different groups. DS(13) is taking part in the Knights of Columbus math meet- DH took him to Sauk Prairie this morning already.

Looks like we will be having our FFF today- DH picked up some salmon the other day, turns out great on the grill with lemon butter and his secret spices

Hoping to get our trees tapped today- DH ended up having to work longer yesterday then expected.

Hello everyone! Long time no post. Did any of you miss me?
Didn't even try to catch up this time. Except it did read about the roundabouts or what ever the h3ll they are called ! I am with all you other old foggies. I hate them. Whoever posted the dmvs picture with directions it did make more sense but if you are just driving through a town with them you always don't know where you're going! Hate em!
Anyway spring is on the way. I already bought one white elephant gift for the bash.
Hey has anyone ordered from my pet chicken? I see they have lavender orphingtons. Wondering about the quality.
I would like to do the Easter hatch but my rooster hatch are so successful that might just order chicks.

Morning to everyone....I remember solo & ensemble well. I played the coronet and still have the antique. One of my daughters used it when she was in HS too.
Good luck with getting the trees tapped. One of these years I should do that with all the sugar maples we have here. Just not set-up for cooking. The guy from church gave us 3 gallons for our Lenten breakfasts....oh my is that stuff sweet...best I ever had, not real dark either, but sweet like candy.

Off to the recycle center now...just way to nice to stay inside.
