The sunshine sure has some power today. The snow next to the house is melting pretty good.

Congrats to your son on the wrestling metal. I listened to the state match on the local radio station here last week. It seems like the sport is gaining ground in popularity.

I'll have to talk to chuck about his new toy frenchie....I've been thinkin that I need one too.

Hi my Cheesies!!

Been so long since I've been on here - expecting baby #4 will crunch your spare time for sure! Any day now little one will be here. And I will be back with squishy baby pics.

I did want to post about a new poultry ordinance that my little township is proposing. It's not a good one, very restrictive and over the top for such a rural area as Morrison. There is a town board meeting Tues night (3/10) at 7:30, if anyone else in our town would like to attend and voice their opposition. I can't promise I'll be there because I might be in labor or have a newborn. But wanted to get this out there.

Does anyone have any resources for this situation where an ordinance is being proposed for a very farmy, rural area? It's not that we haven't been allowed poultry before, just new overbearing rules concerning their keep (requiring license, annual fee, banning roosters and egg sale signs, no odors can be detected on another property, coops/feed must be rodent proof, coops must be 6' high, etc etc.) It's really quite ridiculous. Please PM me if you have anything, I won't really be able to come back to the thread.

Found some eggs on Ebay that I bid on. Lavender Australorps! So far I'm the highest bidder. If I win I can use them in the Easter Hatch a long.
I'm collecting California white (leghorn) hen and Easter Eggers (brown layer ) hen covered by Lavender Orpington Rooster as well for the batch along. Future babies could be Lavender Mutts provided I get some hens out of the hatch.
Wondering if anybody has ordered from My Pet Chickens? Quality?
Is anybody going to be ordering chicks in time for the bash?

they have the cattle panels which are alot lighter and more open....my guess 6x6" or bigger....the panels i bought were horse panels which are 2x4" so this thing is a tank...you def could use this for multi things....i was suggested in the michigan thread to use it for chickens one year and then put in plants the next year...free ferts...so i think this is a good idea..just not sure where i would like to put this...this one will more then likely just be stationary and full of chickens all the time...im trying to get sand here with a dump truck but i have no luck on getting one...they say its all still frozen...man i miss a normal big city...this small town is always behind in everything...and it slows me down as well....and just checked for more egg trays for the incubator and i have used them all....so i somehow have to get more....quick....as this weekend the whole cabinet incubator will be full...will be 200 eggs...oh boy...and it has begun....and that is not even setting any pheasant or peafowl eggs yet...i might have to order another gqf cabinet incubator....

I was thinking about Zeke today,, whenever I take the "southern" route home from town I think of him,, there is a place where he used to park his rig and I would pick him up to go to lunch,,
I didn't know him very long, but he sure made a little space in my life brighter ..
