I'll tell you what, if we talked only chicken, there would be a lot fewer posts on here..
and I think it would be a lot less interesting, too..
I will admit, occasionally we do wander way off the chicken track, but side discussions always peter out and something new comes along..
we are more than just chicken fanatics here,, we are friends.. and friends can talk about anything,
(except politics and religion) ..
personally I don't know enough about either one to carry on an intelligent conversation..

I got my lawnmower fixed today.. great timing,, Ollie is running, lawn mower works and now it is too cold and nasty to use either of them ,,

Frankie passed her "friendly dog exam" a stranger, lady, stopped in to pick up a guinea.. Frankie did the barking thing, then she settled right down and let the lady pet her,, what a difference that was from her last litter ..

the brooder was turned off when I just went out to water the chicks.. we must have had a lightning strike close by because the battery charger was blinking 88.88 also..

I hit the reset button on that line and everything is back to working again..

see how I included chicken talk in those non chicken items ? ..

If the weather doesn't rain on me, tomorrow I might tackle the tail gate hinges on the PU truck.

just put 6 dozen eggs into the hatcher.. one already hatched.. they are due tomorrow, ,, but there are some small eggs in there, so maybe they are due earlier..
anyway, it is a good sign,, I would rather have some hatch early than late ..

Morning All!

I'm still doing pens and ink for the company Jon quit because his boss turned out to be an ***. The owner is OK, a little hard to work with sometimes, but he pays in advance. He was a bit late getting me the money this time so I'm pushing to get done! Which is why I'm posting at 5:30! Well, that and the peacock pens I'm doing different than I did and I ran into issues.

Got my laptop back from the repair shop and I can't get it out of "safe mode"

I'll take it back after I sleep and have the repair guy do it. I think it was part of a program he used to work on it.

Lost another chick out of the second batch. Not happy.

Guess that's it.... must try to sleep now... Night All!

good morning,

the little snow we had didn't seem to harm any of the plants.. most of the apple blossoms were already fallen off of the tree, so the apples should be OK..

going after a bunch of tomato plants.. thinking I might try the Amish canners.. they are sort of like the Roma.. we have only 13 quarts of tomatoes left on the shelf ..

the 5 boys and 4 girls are growing visibly each day,, we have Frankie on a supplemental calcium and protein formula.. gotta save her bones, doncha know ..
she really doesn't like it too much, but she ate it eventually .. might have to mix the powder in with some hamburger instead of making the liquid form.

going to work on the PU truck tail gate if it warms up a bit..
going to tackle the mantis tiller.. hoping all I have to do is mix the gas and start her up..
that would be something different around here..

have pips in the hatcher,, right on time, so maybe ????

Good Morning
Not to bring back the crab topic but was looking thru a local nurseries catalog and found this page on flowering crabs. Thought it might hlp. It is the nursery where you got your trees bigz. How are your trees doing?
Got woke up today by the a call from the court house. ET was suppose to be there at 8am. It was 10 to! He said he didn't have to call till Tuesday.....but turns out he was suppose to call last night about Tuesday. Geez guess I should have called and listened to the recording myself. He's still not home......hmm hope he isn't on a long case.
I found some bed rails.... $250. Used. Vs $500 new. In Loyal Wi.
I'm afraid to let them ship them. If they twist that easy with our luck lately that's all I would need. So if he has jury duty tomorrow I'll have to dump him off then drive down.
