Thanks Cindylady. What is that really tuff stuff that is used for chickens?Hi All!
Firstchick.... A coon can rip through a screen like tissue paper! You need something much heavier.
Well, I guess to those of you who are going to show birds, you could put a sign in your yard asking predators not to kill your birds until after the show.![]()
Night All!
Wire mesh or welded wire it's sometimes called. I get mine at Menards in 1/4 and 1/2 inch spacing. Thanks Cindylady. What is that really tuff stuff that is used for chickens?![]()
That's a really good idea Jim. The only thing I'd really add is make sure the stapled side is facing out, otherwise I'd be afraid they (preds) might push the screen & hardware cloth (wire mesh) inward & the staples might let loose if the wood is soft. I guess they could pull the cloth off toward them too.good rainy morning,
what I did was buy a cheap wooden screen door, then add the wire mesh to it,, I used 1/2 inch,,
lay the door on something nice and flat and staple the mesh good and tight,
doing so will keep the door square and it reinforces the frame..
make sure the door fits the opening first ..
