Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Chris that is one nice thought, you are truly a kind and generous soul :love  I am not asking for anything, just wishing for things to go back to the "good" ole days... would enjoy seeing my husband and son hunt like my husband and his dad did was filled with good memories of father son times... As the years pass we miss the simple pleasures. You have beautiful land west of Madison love the Wisconsin River Bluffs. Tell us more about what is in your "brooder"

My Goodness what great Packer win and the weather today outstanding... Sucks to have the late Summer cold ACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Only thing in the brooder right now is hopes that the city changes the ordinance tomorrow to allow chickens in town! :)

Love canned venny! I will try to make it out this year with the bow. Has been a few years & work schedule does not make it look to promising.
The young brahmas are doing well with the others. I don't think they ever got out of their cage. So it took some time for them to venture out of the coop.

My dad was a big hunter..,so grew up with the good venison dinners...miss that!

Ok...opinions wanted... Still have a few that seem to have watery poops. And egg production sucks right now...most have bright combs. Now ha being said that I made a mistake and went cheap and bought the cheap feed at the store and half way through the bag, found some moldy chunks so got rid of it and got some better feed but not sure that was issue...would you treat birds now, before winter to make sure they are all healthy?

Otherwise loving the fall weather and we are in kids soccer and football now. Busy stuff!

My faithful old Dodge Stratus finally bit the dust and I'm really gonna miss it. The transmission died - probably from all the heavy towing we've been doing with it. We're picking up a new 2015 Dodge Ram on Wednesday after they install running boards so I can get up into it! The hubs has wanted one of those for a long, long time and, thanks to having the produce stand to haul, he's finally getting his wish.

The garden is starting to slow down and I don't feel so far behind since my SIL gave me a hand this weekend. Time to start thinking about moving critters into warmer quarters soon.

I LOVE Fall!!

Nice Summer Day here for sure...Congrats on the fresh Venzun...it's the best red meat you know!

I'm waiting another day or so to hunt....way to much garden stuff and warm weather.....I've never been without Venzun in the freezer since I was married 43 years ago....the harvest will be at hand when timing is right here....I like shootin nice bucks....

Camp finally purchased a nice wood splitter...about time, I say!

More green beans picked here today...love the slenderette variety that keeps on producing.

Stay Safe...bigz

good eve,

first chance I have to get online today,, busy busy,,

I went to the feed mill and picked up 300 pounds of oats and corn..

nephew Danyole came and carried all of the fallen branches out of the nut tree grove. a pretty good pick up load.. then I went in with the mower and demolished the weeds..

I took a "before" picture yesterday,, tomorrow I will take an "after" picture..
Danyole will come back and we will go at the pine trees and trim all the branches to above head high ..

I didn't feed the chickens any corn and oats today,, Annie picked a whole bunch of corn and we fed the tips and stripped cobs to the chickens.. first time I ever saw them with more than they cared to eat..

we two old farts blanched and froze 54 pints of creamed style corn..
that should hold us until corn time next year..
there is a ton of corn left in the garden,, if it doesn't all get used by somebody, we will pick it after first frost and feed it to the chickens..

It is really ripe, and won't be long until it is over ripe..

Annie is making calls to whomever to come and pick corn if they want it..
My sister is about the only person who ever shows up..

Sure wish I lived closer Jim.

My gals are getting their fill of corn and cantaloupe carcases these days - The quail like the cantaloupes, too. I've been freezing tons of stuff and my poor feet are crying for mercy!

Picture option not working again but me and Tyler got most of Anellia's floor & the sitting room framed yesterday. Hope to finish her floor & kitchen floor today and start the rest of the walls. Then it's on to the rafters and such. Getting almost time to head over to neighbors barn and start tearing down supplies to bring home. I'm going to try and roof the 8 feet that comes off of the center octagon in corrugated steel from the barn. I have enough new steel to do it but really want to keep the rustic look going.
