Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We brought home 3 deer this past weekend. Spent the last 2 days deboning and canning. I still have a huge load to cut up for jerky meat. We will try for at least 3 to 4 more to fill up the shelves. We are hunting on my husband's uncle's land and we are trying to supply him with some meat out of the deal. Lots more work to do. The girls are giving me about a dozen a day right now. Anyone know why you occasionally get a very tiny egg from the full sized chickens?

Beautiful Summer Day Today....yep the venzun is a staple here and good to hear you are having success.

Gonna grill venzun back straps and raw shrimp tonight. It's one of my favorite meals. Gonna also toss a couple salmon patties on for a different taste.

My winter squash is lookin awesome...gonna have quite a pile.

Have to run...bigz

Question: I assumed 2 of my pullets were bcm's. No way could you tell them apart from bcm hen.
And the 1st egg is........an olive egg. Roo was bcm, and I had broody bcm, oe, and light brahma...all at about same time. I guess I have to go to the chicken chart & sort it out.

Two buff Orpingtons for sale to good home nice pullets just trying to make space for the 9 chicks we're picking up Friday. I made a deal with the Hubby seems like good chicken math to me. They're just getting close to POL and one may have layed already. Beautiful healthy girls 18 weeks and two days old. Please PM me if interested.

good morning,

no double vision yet today,, it happens mostly when I get tired..

I will wait for the plucker pictures.. i enjoy pictures of the projects, too.. even if I do not always comment..

I had 3 people actually show up to look at the fence.. however, the fence is still here..

I put the fence up by myself is a day,, it shouldn't take a couple of people more than 2 hours to take it down..
I will pull the posts out for them with the tractor loader.

thanks again for the birthday greetings.. I think I am the oldest person on chzhds ..

I am thankful the garden is bout over... Still got some jalapenos I am am going to freeze as poppers need appetizers for the Packer Bears game on Thanksgiving!! One Hungarian Wax Pepper plant that is going nuts gotta figure out if they will work like popper too, can;t see a reason why not... but the freezer is plum full... I now realize I am still freezing, gardening and canning like we are a family of 4 and not two empty nesters... Have another beautiful fall day all!

Finally able to upload some photos. This was at the end of yesterday, the floor is DONE, just in time for the rain to come. Hope it dries up enough today so I can work on the wall framing.
