Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

That's gonna be so cool when it's done. I'm a bit jealous of it...just not the amount of work! I'm working on a new coop for the winter. Something a bit bigger. Probably gonna go get my barnboards this weekend from a buddy. Also trying to keep that rustic look. I'm pretty excited to finish it up. Still stunned my olive egger showed back up for the day after being gone 3 days.

Just cut the remainder of the corn off the stalks yesterday so freezing corn is the main task of the day. Still picking tomatoes and squash. The winter squash is sparse. Potatoes need to be dug up soon.

I'm trying to find some nice, cheap (or free) cages and misc for John's rabbits and quail - anyone have any laying around and not in use?? Also looking for some chain so we can hang them in the barn.

go to U tube and look for taking corn off the cob with a drill.. neat to watch..

there are lots of videos about shelling corn and freezing it.. some are not good ideas, but there are a couple good ones..
I do not like the knife and bunt pan method.. too much waste IMHO ..

today is our 52nd anniversary .. seems a lot longer..

The hubs found some PVC he can cut for legs so no need for chain.

Gary and I have only 27 years under our belt and kiddingly always say it feels like forever too!
When I freeze corn I just like a nice sharp knife.... if there is waste it is so minor not going to worry about it, the taste of good sweet corn more than makes up for it. I also tray freeze it so I don't have solid blocks.

Need to get my potatoes out of the bin... I don't have a huge garden so I am giving the bin method one more chance this year crossing fingers!
