I love you sense of humor!!!!

Nice Afternoon to everyone....raise the waterer by placing concrete patio blocks, or wood pads or something to get the waterer at least 6 to 12 inches off the floor...the results are amazing.

Busy here....keep havi'n fun...bigz

Yep raise the water onto concrete blocks and think about a warmer to keep it thawed in the cold of winter...
Water and food are both hung and above butt level to keep them clean...
Badgers finally pulling away in the game had me worried when it was 7 - 3 at the half...
Looking for a little revenge in the Packer game tomorrow night. Pulled all the tomatoes and my bin of potatoes netted about 10 pounds they look so nice still not a great yield though...
Jim the smoked turkey comment was great!!

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood! Picked the first pie pumpkin today - soon I'll be able to let the chickaroos roam the garden and graze on whatever is left. They're plenty happy gorging on all the trimmings and over-ripe veggies from all the processing in the meantime.

The hubs fixed some of the lights in the barn, fixed legs for some cages and John burned the cages clean. Getting ready for winter.

Has anyone ever used the electric (heated) rabbit waterers? I'm going to look at some tomorrow to see if they will be feasible. If they are, maybe the quail can use them also. Sure would save a lot of trips to the barn every day to exchange frozen water for fresh.

G'nite all!

Packed 45# of shredded cabbage into the crock yesterday; I could have fit another 15# in there! Hubby will be happy now, he will have his homemade kraut for the next year or so.

Depends on which bottles. We got ones and they all leaked after a few days. I spent more time refilling leaking bottles that I had spent exchanging bottles. If you can check the reviews online at a few places before you buy.

Not off the top of my head. Let me see if I can find one. I remember the major cause of the leaking was the springs for the drinker valve kept breaking.

Oh I found them on Amazon Here is the link to the page.

Thanks for the suggestions re:raising water. I just elevated it a bit more, (4", the birds are about 4 wks old). Will see how that works and then maybe raise it some more.

Met someone at the Galesville farmers market yesterday who let us come pick raspberries at her place this am. We now have way more berries than we know what to do with! But while we were there we saw that she had some chickens, and a few goats too. She had killed a couple roosters this am, thankfully my 4yo didn't notice the bodies strung up and heads on the ground. :) It's funny because she had pretty much everything that I've been thinking about doing on our property since we moved in this year. But 'start small' seems to be the advice everyone gives so that's what we're going to do.

I had kind of been planning to move our birds out to the coop at 4 wks, but it's getting pretty cool at night. Wondering now if we should wait to 5 or 6 weeks of age? They are 4wks old tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the help everyone!
