Well good I'm glad to hear it. Sorry having grown up in a family of antiques and my grandmother owning an antique shop I love things such as these and the woodwork in old houses. So many people rip it out and its just heartbreaking how little respect people have for the past. That is one thing I would like to do in the house I am currently in but I don't know if I'll ever get it done. People who previously lived her took and painted all the trim in the downstairs whited and they added a coat every year. I would love to strip in and stain it but I may never find wood. There are probably 50 coats. Lol

Fish Fry Friday again already...fun to be able to use the outside cooker again!

Great job with the coop de-vile stacy.

Hope you can get the place Delish....I love the woodwork in the older places too...they sure don't build em like that anymore.

Pond Hill went great....they do a wonderful job and pay attention to details.

I am taking risk with this house and paying for an inspector. It will be well worth it to make sure it is a safe home and I will not have a house that will fall down from some foundation issues. I m meeting the inspector out there tomorrow morning. After I get his report I will decide if I should actually write a final contract.

good evening,

I got some more done on the chicken plucker project today,,
I might just get it done by Wednesday..
then I can give it a trial run on the remaining 21 pullets..
Then I will put it up for sale and start building another one..

So exciting! Let us know how how the inspection goes.

Doesn't your lending company require a House Inspection, or just well and septic inspection?

We have saved ourselves a bunch of headaches by getting a house inspection before buying any of our palces. We had put an offer in on a different house, but the inspection caught that there was powder post beetle damage to the main support beam in the basement (crawl-space). The inspector recommended that it be replaced, the seller refused - "that beam has held up the house for 80years and will be there for another 80". It was not an item that would have allowed us to back out of the offer without loosing our earnest money, but that and the non-conforming well that was grandfathered in was enough to convince us that we didn't want that place. We were able to back out because of a undersized septic field for the additional bedroom he put in. Then we found this place that we now have; this one is perfect for us and we will be here for a long time.

Nice Day again, they are gonna run out before long, I'm afraid.

Yep, core.....I had my extra cockerels from the spring hatch processed....I kept the best one for future breeding.

Enjoy the great week-end weather.....bigz

How hard is it to dry pluck a young rooster? I only have 2 that I am going to butcher and I am feeling too lazy to heat a big pot of water for only 2 birds. If it is going to be to difficult, then I will have to just suck it up and pull out the big pot and heat all that water...
I am waiting now for the molt to end, too many pin feathers right now but their tail feathers are just starting to come in so not too long I think.
