Dinner and a Moscow mule. My new favorite refreshment

DH & I saw a fisher run across the road when we drove through Wausau a few years ago. It was a big un for sure.

Ang, your hen needs a saddle. One year I had spur damage on at least 4 hens. Ever since then, most of the girls wear saddles at least through spring & most of summer. If they are a real fav, sometimes longer. I made a few saddles extra wide to cover their sides a little better. So far, so good.

Just an FYI: DH brought in some frozen eggs, one of which was cracked. I left it on the counter to thaw before cooking it up. When it thawed, I couldn't see the crack at all.

And yes Jim, I did put glasses on.

Jim, I think I will follow your lead & make a pot of chili tomorrow. Then curl up under a fuzzy blanket with a few brewskis & watch the game.

ETA: I think the tails on the "mice" might be chives?

Playoff Saturday is finally here....can we say redemption is in order today?

Yep quite a few folks from in that area tt...Jim is in Wausau, and that's kinda close too!

The pullets are laying well without any extra light being used....hard to beat those Buckeyes for Winter hardy, and the tiny combs and waddles are a plus too.

GO PACK!

Just read on the Illinois thread. AI found at a commercial turkey operation in Indiana, supposed to be close to the Kentucky border. Makes me think a bit more about where I get my chicks from this year, or if I even should.

.good day,

Unka Dan is up nort Eagle River, and FT Sandi is from Crandon..

I don't worry too much about getting diseased chicks..
A few years back MMcM had a little problem and I called them, they assured me that the chicks were fine.. and they were..

I am going to get my cornish X's from Sunnyside in Beaver Dam, the ones I got last year were very robust, even at a day old ..
I ordered all pullets and that is what I got.. not a rooster in the bunch..
Mine seemed to take to free ranging quite well.. and we had no bow legged ones, or any with feathers burned off of their underside from laying in the manure.. they went to roost just like a chicken..

that was one big animal.. I didn't know they got that big.

Did anybody else feel that bump ? the earth stood still for a split second.. I guess it was because CC agreed with me again.. twice in a years' time..
