These are some of my lighter brown eggs. And we made our own dye rather than buying some.

Hi All!

Yep, dying brown eggs makes rich, deep colors!

The girls are making me go on egg hunts again, must be spring.

Night All!

P.S. We just got some rain and that's probably all we'll get.

Cindy,Yup,nothing but rain here too in Racine/Kenosha the last 24 hours.

I'll have to try coloring my brown eggs I guess. I told the wife to go out and buy a dozen white eggs for the kids. I guess we'll try both! Has anybody tried coloring the brown eggs with run of the mill store bought dyes?

looks like we will have a white easter after all..

we have more than a foot of snow on the deck.

I wasn't going to plow, but it is predicted that it won't melt until next Wednesday.
can we say, "get the plow out, Jim " boys and girls ?

I might shovel out the pop door on the coop and part of the pen but I'm not plowing any more this year. All the vehicles here are 4WD so hopefully we can just pack it all down. It is kinda pretty tho....

I had to put down a pullet the other day...it seems that disease is still in my flock. I have five laying pullets and a young male left in this test flock and about 65 eggs from them incubating. This summer I will have to make a decision again...do I keep them and try to breed for resistance or cull them all in fall, let the buildings/pens sit idle over next winter and start new next spring? What would you all do??

I just checked waow interactive radar.. it shows my house right in the center of what is left of the band of snow.
If it moves east, we will be clear shortly, if it moves N.E.
we will be in the band for several more hours

I have drank enough coffee to float a boat
my blue eyes are turning brown..
