Actually, I would love some if you would not mind... Home getting mower from neighbors, yard is a jungle. Dog has a vet appointment at 2:30 by Marathon so we will drive right by you on the way home.

Curiousiry killed the cat. Or in my case WOULD kill the cat if it weren't for my wife. I put a second coat of polyurethane on some cupboard doors I refinished before I went to town. Wouldn't you know it, there's kitty prints on a few of them now! I've threatened to make a hat out of him before for less....

Another beautiful weather day here in cheeseland! Lucky for you GG to have someone to care for your flocks while you are gone....it's the hardest part of trying to get away from home for most folks....

i'm glad to hear from Cind too! Hope things get better for you Cind!

Actually cut the grass today....it was long enough that I needed to rake the bulk of it....it will go on the gardens and not be wasted.

good afternoon,

for not having much for a planned day, I got a lot accomplished.
I brushed out around the first pine tree, just to see how it would go. I ended up trimming 6 trees and hauling 3 loads of brush and branches to the burn pile..judging by that, there should be about 20 more loads to go. maybe more.
come here after it snows and bring your marshmallows. we are going to have a humdinger of a bondfire..

the fertilizer in the garden is doing it's thing. the weeds are back better than ever. at least we don't have to bend over to pull them out.

Mowed lawn and picked up enough grass to keep some cows in hay for the winter. Too bad we don't have any

Hubby looked outside this morning before he left and promptly declared we need to mow again today. Sigh. Guess I know what I am doing later. Need to spray things that didn't die the first time out in the new space and cover them with all the cardboard that I have now. Hoping to get a couple more loads of dirt the next couple days so that I can get fall turnips in and the next round of lettuce. Those egg boxes are not going to build themselves either so I think while I drink my coffee and make sure my 9 year old doesn't burn down the house cooking breakfast I will look up some construction plans.

Get out and vote today.....it's your duty! I just made it home from voting for the good guys. We froze 7 quarts of stewed tomatoes today. They are starting to ripen fast now. Back outside in a moment to work in the gardens some more. Enjoy this great weather, won't be long and we will be using a shovel for snow.... lmao.

Up and at them, first cup in hand. Private tour to give at Monk garden first thing this morning followed by class with a football team. Then it is a dirt moving marathon. Green beans were the perfect side dish to our "imported" Iowa ham balls we had for supper last night. Sad that there only enough left for the boys' lunches this morning and not mine.

Sure is a damp foggy b out there this morning. Still having trouble transitioning back to third shift. I should be tired but I'm just starting to get fired up. They finally whacked the wheat field that joins me to the north and east last night. Won't be long and the geese will be droppin like flies. Nothing makes better jerky than goose IMO. Gotta go put my squash in the oven and get it baked before the house heats up for the day.
