Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'm petrified of bees..... I have no idea why but I will run the other direction and scream.

Funny thing is I always have been too. But when we got our own bees it lessened a bunch. Plus I was always well protected. The fresh raw honey is AMAZING!!

I'll take your word on that dae. No friggin way. I wonder if by Wednesday I'd be able to pound t-posts into the ground with this warm weather. I'm anxious to get a pig pen up

good morning,

I had bees way back many years ago.
I had no idea about how to care for them nor how to extract the honey.
I somehow managed to get 2 quarts.
I put the big jar on the kitchen table and told the 3 kids as a group, DON'T TOUCH >> I turned to walk out the door and
CRASH !!! I spun around and there were the 2 little girls standing all innocent and perfect.
I screamed and hollored, but to my amazement, I didn't kill anybody.

the two years we had bees, we had the nicest crops of cukes and squash.

today I am going to put the new tranny oil into the tractor.
I hope / think this kind of oil will be more slippery and make the shifting work smoother.
It always shifted OK, but it was hard to get from low range into high range.. kind of hit and miss..

I didn't make coffee today, thinking I will take the lazy route and go to the restaurant. I have to go to town anyway,

Corey, you will have to learn how to talk "pig".
we had a pet sow. she had only one litter, then we ate her
her name was Jenny. named after the friend whe gave her to us right after she was weaned. (The pig, not the friend)

I'm already a pig whisperer lol. Already got a pot of coffee down, I was up early not sure why. Really don't have any actual plans for today and I'm okay with that. I do wanna get to fleet tho and price a few pig and chicken related things. I really wish I could find a nice wooden garden shed used somewhere but I think I'm gonna end up buying one for a new coop. I want something that looks a bit nicer in the yard.

Another beautiful morning out there. I have a purchased garden shed for one of my coops cw. It's 10x16 and really works well. I purchased mine from abuilding4you.com. Very well built.....I added 6 windows to it when I ordered it and changed the door from 6ft to 3ft as well when ordering....they deliver and move right to your level site with a mule that they offer for a additional fee....was well worth th $50 at that time.

A logger stopped by yesterday and wanted know if I was interested in cutting my pines....nope not a chance of that happening.

Enjoy the weather... bigz

well, I did go in for coffee. dragged my bride out of bed to go along. with her along, coming home early is not an option. we got home about 3PM.
that still left me time to put the plugs back into the tractor and fill the tranny with 5 gallons of oil.
then I had to try it out. back bladed the driveway real good.

Annie's cousin's daughter stopped in this morning.
gave me two fine looking roosters. big ones.
at 4 PM I collected the eggs and let all the chickens loose.
when I came into the house my little half pint rooster was picking a fight with one of the big fellas. they gotta get it out of their systems..

Busy weekend!

Drove down to pick up my oldest DS on Friday so we could enjoy his company over the weekend and celebrate his 20th birthday! It is so nice to have him come home, but I am always stuck driving him back home by myself (which sucks).

Youngest DS competed in the Wrestling Sectionals in Shawano yesterday. He did not earn a spot to go to state, but for this being his Freshman year and that he made it that far is pretty spectacular. The kid is 6 foot and at 182 lbs. and is now happy he can not worry about maintaining his weight!

The girls are busy; oldest is planning on how she is going to decorate her BF's house he is in the process of purchasing, the youngest spent Friday touring UW-SP.

Loving this weather! I think I am finally over whatever that virus was..... I managed to go for a nice run this morning and enjoy the April-like weather. The catnip is up, so I brought some in for the cats to get drugged out on...

Jim, thanks for posting the pics. Always impressed with how busy you are.

After driving for 5+ hours, it is nice to be home and be able to veg out on the couch. :)

10 O'clock and all's well..
just came down to check emails .
did some research about why I can't shift the tractor into high range. got a couple of tips, will try them out tomorrow before it rains.
the snow is really going down. the rain should just about finish it off.. except for the snow banks and piles around here.

got 14 eggs today, new chickens laying . getting some big eggs. might be the Sagitta offsprings. found 2 eggs on the floor. 6 under the white rock who is broody. she was handy when it was really cold. she kept the eggs from freezing..

I've been getting 2 or 3 big double yolkers from one of my ee's the past few weeks. The 4wd switch on the plow truck is bit sticky so I may put some manual lockers on it the next couple days. Old school and always work.
