you don't have to dig your fence wire a foot into the ground.
after you have your fence built, just lay some chicken wire flat
on the ground all around the outside of the fence wire. cover it
with mulch and that will prevent any digging under the fence.
much easier to do , too.
domestic ducks and geese barely even look at wild flocks flying overhead. they don't fly, mostly because they are too fat.
muscovys do fly. up onto rooftops, onto cars, sometimes into trees. usually just short flights, but I had one that I bought fly across a 40 acre field and I never saw it again.
Brian had geese that would fly about 1/4 mile to his pond, and then fly home again.
