Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey all, I'm pretty new here. I'm Traci from the Milwaukee area. I have 2 ducks, and 6 chicks. The chicks are straight runs of a couple of different breeds. I'm hoping to get 3 pullets because I'll have to rehome any roosters. Where is this bash in June?

Are those the metal ones Jim? Do you know if they have the covers and bands? They work well for a lot of stuff.

Brent, the ones I was looking at are plastic.
However, since I last saw them this morning, they are no longer on CL. but I do know where the place is, so I will give them a call

there are also metal ones . I was not interested in the metal ones so I didn't pay any attention to where they are.
but they are listed on Wausau, C.L. ..

tk10 the bash is near Clintonville, Wi.
It starts on the first Friday in June

Back in the Northwoods!

Hey Terri! I know I have been to all of the Bashes....... I have an obstacle course race that morning at Mt. Morris, but I should be able to make it there. Of course you are holding the mini-bash the weekend I have the only other obstacle course race for the summer!

DH drove down this week to look at properties with me. I have to say I really like our realtor; she is a hoot! Walks in and starts making comments about what is wrong with the house and why on earth do these people think they can ask such prices for junk?! Anyway, we found a beautiful property that would be AMAZING if we are able to get it. Y'all cross your fingers, toes, and shoot some words to the man upstairs. This would be another major step for us, but I think we can handle it.

I'll keep everyone posted!!

good early morning. Starting out as a beautiful day. Hoping work flies by. I'm thinking the rest of the day will be spent outside on the lawn mower. I've been looking online for different types of apple trees to add to the yard, I think the dwarf trees are what I'm gonna get.

good almost springlike morning,

I missed one bash.

Corey, dwarfs are nice. there is a big apple orchard down toward
Du Bay of what looks like to me to be dwarfs..

Mel, Hope this property works out for you.
are you sure you want the head aches of being a rancher ?

Hello everyone I'm Mike and new to this forum thing and also raising chickens. Glad to see a cheese head forum here. I'm trying to navigate this site/app to find information. Lots of info on here. Does anyone have good starting points to help out a newbie?

Welcome tk and sandman to the cheeseheads. tk the link to the bash information is blue on my siggy, just click on it and the other thread will come up.

If you need to build a coop sandman, make it bigger than what you think you need. I don't know anyone that wishes they had a smaller coop...and be prepared for your chicks before you get them, having the brooder all set up before hand....just ask away about specific stuff and folks will help you out.

Fingers crossed for you and Ross, hope you find what you are looking for.

my first piece of advice is RUN !!! if you refuse to do that, then you are in the right forum..

scroll way down below the reply section below, and look at the left side of the screen,
there is a line that says:
get notified: [click here ] "immediately"

then thereafter you won't miss any posts.
now ask away ....

Spent a good part of my day mowing. First time I have mowed in my snowmobile jacket. Just a bit chilly here. Moved the chicken tractor. Boy can I tell right where it sat last year!!! Big grass growth compared to the rest of the yard.

Hello to the newbies!!! I've only been here for a bit over a year I think. Watch out because chicken math WILL get you. On the bright side, I no longer buy any fertilizer for the garden or flower beds.

Bacon sandwiches here for dinner. Supposed to be BLTs but most of us don't like to put tomato and lettuce on a sandwich. Made extra bacon so that tomorrow we can have bacon pancake dippers.
