Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ugh, this weather! :barnieAnd what a long week at work...
At least it's now the weekend officially.
Moving the chicks to their new digs tomorrow hopefully, just gotta get everything set and ready for them.
I had a momentary lapse in sanity last night when I ran across a posting on Craigslist for month old turkey poults.
Would love to raise some heritage turkeys, but not sure I can pull that off right at this time...so me being me, I started reading about goats! :hmm
I think I read somewhere that chickens are a gateway animal...dangit if my mother didn't warn me, now I'm in it deep!
I hope everyone's plants made it through this crazy batch of weather. Hopefully it will warm up and stay that way now.

Yep, I think it's a smart move waiting on the Turkeys...being prepared is way more important than starting the stress of not being prepared...in my opinion. Having most of the questions answered first makes the project more fun, when the Turkeys arrive....some can wing it...not me.

Morning all, plant sale weekend! I swear, you can't swing a cat without hitting one in and out of town today. I did some work at the Monk to make it look nice, but will head to see my friend Dave who is manning the Master Gardeners tent. Have some seeds for him. Grass is about 10' tall in the yard....

Hi , I'm back from breakfast, and back from town.
checked on some windows at Menard's.
will wait for a sale before purchasing any.

I am cutting a new vent hole through the wall for the portable air conditioner
I have to make a wooden chase for it. I hope to get it finished today.

no plant loss from all the rain, the potatoes stayed buried.
they should be poking through about on Tuesday next week. but I think because of the coldish temps, they will be a little late.

we need some temps above 55F so the bees can work on the apple and plum blossoms.

There is a new winery opening up just a little west of Little Chicago. they are having open house today. I think I might try to make it over there for a little while.

While I don't get to Wausau as much as I use to, where in the heck is little Chicago? Like compared to Aldis or Fleet? Being from a small community, when you get to your metroplex, the names change for the same town...as far as I can see....

Brent, Little Chicago is just about 7 miles N W of where I live.
at the intersection of Marathon County A and Hwy 107.
107 runs through Marathon City about 8 miles south of Little Chicago..

I didn't go to the open house.
It was raining too hard to walk around over there.

Can you post pictures of them? I found the place but I wanna see the quality

Blue - a splash, she's my favorite for coloring.

Hope this helps...this is my first year with chickens, so I have no idea if the coloring is good or not. I will say that the breeder was more than willing to show me the parents, but I didn't want to take up more of her time...wish I would have now.
Live and learn, I guess.
