Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

well, the lawn is once again all mowed.
the beets and onions are planted.
I would like to drag the garden again before it rains. and I would like to rototill a row for the beans.
that's what I would LIKE to do.
but 1-1/2 hours out in the sun just beats me to death.
maybe after a cool rest with the AC blowing on me, I might find the courage to go back out there..

New to BYC, posting to my fellow cheeseheads. I hatched 4 silkies hoping for a couple hens. All 4 were roo's. One is gone, but 3 remain. Is anyone interested in any silkie roo's? How hard are they to rehome? 1 too friendly (wants to be held). 1 neutral. 1 is a bit aggressive. If anyone would be interested, i'll see how photogenic they are this weekend. Also, if anyone near central WI raises silkies, i would like to buy some (or eggs) this summer sometime.

Well, my mother in law moved out today to go to her daughters'. Long, busy, exhausting day. Hubby fell asleep on the couch with the goats again. I will be glad when we get their pen finished before they end up owning my side of the bed, lol.

good morning,
looks like rain coming soon.
congratulations or sorry, which ever applies about your MIL moving out..

I would like to hill the potatoes, but they are not tall enough yet.
getting there, though..

I mowed the lawn again . it took 1-1/2 hours. goes much faster when the grass is not a foot tall.

coffee must be done by now.

Congrats or condolences on the MIL move.
I am jealous about the goatees! I want some minis so bad but haven't been able to talk the DH into it (yet). I think that might be why he suddenly decided to build the coop expansion I've been wanting as my birthday present. We're pushing a bit to get it done because the new brooder room is the main reason for the expansion (no more chicks in the spare bedroom, yea!) and the chicks will be arriving next week. Like Jim, this heat has been kicking these old fogies in the backside working on the build in all this warm and sunny. Us northerners are not used to this!

Ahhh, rootbeer with plenty of ice.

I just did some rototilling getting a spot ready for the beans.
besides the heat, my reason for quitting is that I don't have a string 2oo feet long to mark the row..

I had a roll of it last year, but it is not to be found. just like so many other things around this place.. I can lay down a tool, turn around once and lose it.. it is a knack I have..

Dathen, I think you misspelled

Yep, the lawn is mowed here and the green beans are replanted for a better germination outcome this time around. I tilled the row again cause of our heavy soil here. It's kinda hard to shove seeds into a sidewalk type surface. That's how the soil gets with all the rain we had. I've been working on improving the soil in the garden, but it takes time to acquire nice soft soil when working with heavy soil. My other garden is 20 years older and the soil there is quite pleasant compared to the younger one...just sayin.

Off to Minnesota. Haven't been to the mall of merca' in 15 years...I assume much hasn't changed but we shall see first hand. Just gotta do critter chores yet and we're off. It's supposed to be pretty warm out today and tomorrow so no one overdo it!
