Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good sunday afternoon,
my puter was down since noon on saturday,. Annie's vacuum cleaner shorted out and it was plugged into the same circuit as my puter. I had power but no picture. Kalib came down and got it working again for me.
a wire was loose. IDK how that happened with just the power being interrupted ??

anyhow, I hope you can find a willing Rabbi to give up a foot for DD..

I got my beans all planted on Friday.
Saturday morning I stretched the required 300 feet of hose to the garden and spent over 2 hours watering the rows.

the corn is up a couple of inches.
the potatoes are about 6 to8 inches.
the beets are up already in the planter box.
the onion sets are just setting there.

we had about 3/4" of rain today.
with the forecast looking the way it is, there will be no getting in to rototill or do too much in the muddy garden for about a week..

I have to remove a few teeth from the quack digger to make it into a cultivator. then I will remove all the teeth and put the hilling discs on.

still have about 70 tomato plants to plant. I have not figured out what I am going to do about staking that many plants.

Good quiet morning everyone

Wow, what a wild Sunday p.m. It started out ok, just a little wet. Then around supper time it started. Watches, warnings, watches and then the first storm hit. After that it was one warning after another. The storms just kept coming. Never lost power but a lot of folks up here did and are still out. I can't remember ever having one after another roll thru like that with no break and it went on nonstop for more than 5 hours. Don't know exactly how much rain because my gauge only holds 4" and it overflowed. We are supposed to be dry today and you folks to the south get a turn then we get it again on Tuesday.
My chicks are supposed to ship from Hoover's in northern Iowa today. I hope they're going to equip them with little water wings!
Have a blessed, safe week!

good just cloudy but sopping wet morning,
I am not going to water the garden today..

by the time this wet dries up the lawn will be very long again.

nothing planned for today.
guess I will make a potta and watch the morning news..

I am happy to hear you are okay! No rain here for some time. I hope we get some today. The rain barrels are all empty. Stay safe everyone!
Awwww, thank you. We just found out a friend was trying to check on us. Had no idea the phone was out. This is the one time it is a real blessing that our high 20 acres the homestead is on are mostly sand (the back forty is totally flooded already from all the rain this spring).

When I got back from mn yesterday there was siht everywhere in my yard. Branches blew all over, my waste management can blew across the field and emptied itself. My grill was blown over. Even my mailbox which is cemented in a old milk can was down in the ditch. And my mower shed siht the bed too.

Yep, self sufficient is the only way to live and eat.Did you ever notice the long list of ingredients in the most basic foods, that are store bought? We always bake our own bread and buns...much,much healthier for you...add a little flax seed, if you want more nutrition.
We don't buy much in the stores...most of it is just laced with chemicals and words you can't pronounce...I'll skip that kinda stuff and don't feel like I'm missing a thing.

Stay Safe in the heat.... bigz

corey, see what happens when you go away for a day or two ??
we didn't have the wind that blew through the nort-woods. we had a little.
a few of Annies potted plants on the deck got tipped over..
We sat outside for a few minutes and threw bread at the chickens.. it was not so bad out there..

my day of not knowing what I was going to do came to an abrupt end.
I am going to be shampooing some carpets . Thanks ANnie..

@corewassen87 so sorry to hear you had to come home to that. Mother nature has her own way of doing things for sure! :barnie
Not much going on here. Didn't get anymore done on the dog fence... just too hot.
Looking forward to a break in the heat and humidity at some point, we'll get more done then.
Stay safe and cool everyone.

Another evening of rain and storm watches/warnings but the bad stuff missed us this time :celebrate

Corey, so sorry for the mess. That really stinks. There are still a lot of folks around here out of power and lots of trees down and a few roads washed out to our north. I was surprised we had no serious damage but our thick woods protected us from the worst of the winds. We're supposed to get hit again tomorrow, not too concerned as long there are no tornadoes. We had a near miss just to our north a couple weeks ago.
