Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My poor hen has no tail and never has grown one in. When I got my first hens they were rescues in my opinion. They had no food, no water and they had 14 hens housed with 5 roosters and 6 ducks, 5 of which were male. That was 3 years ago. She still has a naked butt. They all got their back feathers in again though.

is the message I am getting,
IF I could molt, my hair would grow back ?
Gee, I wish I could molt .

chick count update. 52 and a couple more pipped. not holding my breath for the pipped ones. late ones usually don't do well..

Yep, I wish I could molt to...but then we would have to fight off all the chicks again.
Finally had enough ambition to take my aluminum cans into the buyer. I had 183lbs I sold, and then stopped by the feed mill on my way back and bought 200lbs of layer feed. I still have $23 left of my can money....so it pays to save your cans to buy feed or more tall cold ones.

Wow Brent, I thought I did good with $25.oo worth of cans a couple of weeks ago.
It also helps when every so often a place on Hwy O sets out a couple of bags full for the garbage collector.

I sent 52 chicks home with Jordan today. now I see a couple of pairs of beady eyes looking at me from the incubator again..
Jordan won't come all the way back for just two chicks. I will keep them until the ducks hatch in about a week.

I have to do something with the grape vines. I thought I pulled all of them out last year. I missed a few pieces of root, I guess. guess I will put the stakes and wire back in..

I rototilled both sides of the long row of tomatoes today. maybe now that it is going to warm up to growing temperatures again, they will finally start to show some growth.

It really amazes me how some folks refuse to save and sell their aluminum cans. Nice to have someone nearby to help your pile grow Jim. I always pick them up along the property in front where they always toss them out....ching, ching.
Sounds like you had a decent hatch this time. I didn't hatch any this year, but I think I will need to next year for sure.

Yeah, a real decent hatch.
IDK how many were chicken eggs and how many were duck eggs.
there were 263 in all.
I tossed 3 bad smelling ones.
they are still hatching on their own.
there are at least 3 in the bator for sure. It will be a PITA to keep them.

Kalib's water pump went out on the car. we picked it up from Kurt today.
New idler tension pulley ,serpentine belt, pump, anti freeze , $320.oo..

as long as we were out riding around, we stopped at the Log Cabin in Schofield for lunch. they always have good food..

Annie felt cold all day. I felt hot.
usually it is the other way 'round.

I tilled one row of tomatoes. that included one side of the bean row just incidentally.

put the puppies on C L just for future sales. had 6 responses already.. nothing serious, I don't think.

had a hit on the bird cages, too.
have them "make an offer". a lady offered $10.oo for one of the big ones. it is like about a $200.oo cage. I told her, OK. she ended up being a NoShow. Really ?? why did she call ????

good morning,
it gets light out so early and it wakes me up. I am cuppa'd up already.

GG, can you use some free chicks ?
Jordan picked up 52 of them yesterday, but they keep hatching.
He will not make the long drive from Mosinee to pick up just a couple of chicks.
there are four for sure.
after today I will toss the unhatched eggs.
I don't know if these chicks are any breed. probably crossed breeds.

I don't want to mess with chicks.
I have too many other things to do.
My lean to caved in from the snow.
so I am going to tear it apart and rebuild it. I need a place to store the tiller and lawn mower.

the new puppies will have their eyes open in a couple of days. they are beginning to use their legs to get around already.
I can't believe how they are growing. Frankie feeds them in shifts. so far they are content and fat.

Looking for a good home for an Easter Egger bantam rooster 5 weeks old now. Milwaukee area.
Hi Belinda, We're neighbors!

Have you tried Craigslist for your roo? Otherwise, I'll be selling some chicks at 7 Mile fair in a couple weeks when they are off heat lamps. I could bring him for you.
