Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'm doing fine bl4...thanks for asking. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Yep, in my opinion straw is a must in this frigid State....the straw needs to be deep...it's cheap, don't skimp on it. The flock depends on you for everything...my coops are full of fluffy straw, and my flocks are doing fine.

I lost my smallest rooster in this cold spell. I still have 4. I have a deep floor full of shavings. My heated water dish is iced over today but I didn't lock the coop door last night so I am thinking it was the -14 breeze on the floor. I give my girls warm fridge scraps to help with extra fat and protein. Had extra waffle mix this morning so they got waffles mixed with the leftovers from last nights dinner. Even my silkies are holding up fine so far. Luckily my one frizzle that was literally naked all summer decided to grow a full coat of feathers this fall.

Happy Stinkin' New Year!!!
