Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

seems like the storms are over.. just when we need to see a doppler radar, the satellite tv goes off..
today I air layered two apple branches.
I don't expect either one of them to take..
I had to trim a couple of branches so I could work on the ones I was trying to air layer.. the branches i cut off are now trimmed and sitting in a pail of water.
good news. the grapes I transplanted last year are growing.. I think there are 3 plants..
my plan is to air layer some grape vines tomorrow.. if I don't get side tracked by the boss..
I took Ollie and jerked out a smallish black walnut tree by the roots. it was deformed too much to salvage..

good morning, (echo echo echo)
yesterday I made four grape air layers.
got rained out just as I was getting the hang of it.. I gave up on the pop bottle method. I figured that those flimsy sandwich baggies would work better. they do..
wyo, do you have those hops tied up yet?

Good morning, morning, morning (echo back). No rain here yesterday, but what a gorgeous day! I spent much of the day weeding and setting a live trap for the woodchuck I thought was eat the cucumbers. This is what I caught instead. Hmmmmm.

I'm not sure what I will get at today, but I did notice squash bug eggs on the cucurbit plants which I should work on removing.

I have not moved the Hops yet. Still trying to decide where to put them.
I did try to brush out the dog, he has so many knots in his coat I may have to take him in and get him shaved...
I planted the rest of the pack of peas, 5 plants will not give me much snap peas to eat. Tomatoes are starting to take off, I will need to spend a few hours out there tying them up to their cages. They are just growing wild out of the cages. When their fruit grows, it will break branches for sure.

hello boys and girls, today can we say
hassenpfeffer ?
I hope to get some more grapes air layered today.. I will take some pictures.
in the mean time here is a picture of Ollie and the black walnut tree that we uprooted
just to prove that I do what I say I do..

why don't you just leave the hops where they are and trim the foliage off about 40" down to the ground ?

maybe you could try some vegetable oil on the dog when you brush him ??
