Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We're going to be selling hatching eggs and chicks this spring! We've got Dorkings, Icelandics, Australorps, EE's, and general barnyard.

Icelandics: hatching eggs $22/half dozen, $8/chick. We will also have four roos for sale once we decide who we're using, and they will be $25-$45.

Dorkings: hatching eggs $20/ half dozen, $7/chick.

Australorps and EE's: hatching eggs $14/half dozen, $5/chick

General Barnyard Egglayers: hatching eggs $12/half dozen, $4/chick

We're outside Madison in Marshall, WI.
Thank you for posting this. I’m interested in Australorps and EE's. I’ll keep an eye open for your posts this spring.

Jim, this is going to sound harsh, probably because it kind of is. But. I replied to your comment with a little levity (following it with a wink) despite being slightly offended that you would choose to ask me if I was following some basics of breed preservation, as if I haven't been living and breathing these birds and this farm life and the best choices to make all of this move forward, as if I don't know how babies are made. I didn't reply that I was offended. I didn't call you out on your words being rude. But you DID reply to my brief response that everything is taken care of on this end to do this responsibly--with passive aggressiveness and sarcasm, and I don't appreciate it. And it's not my job to babysit your feelings if you start off a combative conversation and you don't like my response.

I know this will likely anger you, but this isn't the first weird defensive post I've seen from you, and I'm letting you know that I see it. And I really don't think it's okay. And I'm not going to be sitting here worried about how you're going to react to what I say, because...it's not my job to babysit your feelings. You're an adult. I've been following with your life as you record it here because I'm interested, because I like to be connected with like minded people, because you have a lot of knowledge to offer. You are an interesting, accomplished, cool dude. And I hope that we can be cool.

Jusavi--definitely! If you let me know what you're thinking, I can earmark some babies for you. :D

Dreamer--the EE's do have smaller combs and wattles. Let me track down some pics and I can post them in the next post!

do you have roosters of each breed ?
do you have facilities to keep the breeds separated ?
.....jiminwisc......

I was asking about the roosters because I didn't know if you had them already or not ??
and I asked about the separate pens because I didn't know how far along you are in your new place.
and I didn't mention that you will play heII trying to sell roosters when hardly nobody wants them..
respectfully,
I am not going to ask you to point out all the snide posts I have made.
I am here to help when I can.
despite what you think ..

Those EEs are kinda cool looking - I wonder if the friends who get the eggs would mind colored eggs?
See, they are engineers and engineers can be a LITTLE set in their ways. Heck, DH may not even eat eggs with colored shells, lol. And one of the guys saves the "good eggs" for himself and makes his 2 year old eat the store eggs- because she doesn't appreciate the better eggs at her age. Now, if he brought home colored eggs, he may have to share them!
