Hi all--so fun to check out stuff here on BYC again! I see we still have a bit of "ahem" controversy still alive...everyone please remember that what we say in the written word sometimes comes across as crass or sarcastic; when it was not really meant in that sense.
Glad to be back here...not super sure how much time I will have to check back...have a good one! TerriO

Good morning everybody. A bit cool this morning so I thought I would try splitting some free wood I got from the city. Found a slightly rotten piece and gave it a whack. Low and behold a termite nest. Boy did the girls go crazy over that. Have a great weekend

Yum, termites! :lau

We are busy as usual. This week seemed really hard. I had a friend come over today to look at our setup because he's going to be building in the spring and wanted to chat. He also drooled over our Dorkings for awhile and gave me a little advice on who to put in with who. Terri--he also helped me take off Morris' spurs!:yesss: I was so nervous doing it and so it was great to have someone to give a practical demonstration. I feel a lot more confident going forward now in doing the rest of the boys ourselves. Whew.

We're about to start the incubator for the Icies, too! I'm SO EXCITED.

Happy weekend y'all.

My flock of 12 do that - except for Stoopid who gets lost every time she leaves the run. I believe it is because I am the "Flock Master" and they idolize me and want me to give them treats. Yes I buy my chickens love.

Yep, that's quite normal for the hens to squat like that. The nicer you are to your chickens the friendlier they become....mine are constantly under my feet and supervise all my daily chores….you just gotta love those pretty hens. My flocks are quite the talkers too.
