Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

we are almost ready for winter. the garage is almost clean enough to get the tractor into it.
We hauled out two dumpsters full of junk and near junk to the curb. and we hauled two completely full tractor buckets of burnables to the burn pile. got the floor swept. and I am almost finished building some shelves. there will be several containers of tools , a chainsaw and who knows what else on the shelves. I (think) I made the bottom shelf high enough to get my big compressor underneath it. If I have to take the wheels off, I will. I have other portable compressors if I need one .
I have only 3 shelves to put boards on, yet.
I hope to get those done today..
BL4, you don't have to worry about your geese. they are quite maintenance free.
I had some geese who never went into their coop. One time it snowed and got real cold.
they just hunkered down out on the lawn and did not get up until 3 days later. No drinking, no eating..

We need to get the chicken tractor out of the garage so I can park my truck inside. Still too much fall clean up to do before winter sets in.
I rented a place once where I had to back my PU truck into the garage - the shelf on the back wall was just high enough to get the tailgate under but too low for the hood of the truck. Plus I needed to flip in the side mirrors.

Good fire in the fire place tonight.....time for one more before the fire dies out.....something nice about a fire in the house....finally the dampness from the weather is gone with it's warmth.

good morning, dishes done, cuppa in hand.
when I had a 16' wide garage door, I had to slightly turn the wheels on the truck to miss hitting the mirror. those old timey mirrors didn't fold.
I got half of the shelves done. then I got pulled away to go get a fish fry dinner.
today we are going to Marion , so the shelves will wait another day. I am really enjoying building them, . I get to use my table saw, jointer, planer , finish nailer and screw driver.. I have a pile of shavings 2 feet deep behind the planer. alas, no chickens to bed down with it..

shelves about half done. two bottom shelves done.
17 inches deep, 5 feet wide and tall enough to hold the square plastic pails I get from the supermarket deli. there is one on the right side of the lowest shelf .

43F all day 39F when I came in at 7pm
I finished the shelves.
It was not as uncomfortable out there as I thought it would be.

BL4, you have a large lawn, You need many more lawn mowers..
they don't eat certain weeds, so you might have to mow once or twice ..
Or maybe get something that will eat those kinds of weeds, goats, sheep ??
