What's the profit TOR, roughly on 600 dozen sold?
I have 5.5 excellent crop acres I rent for $880 per year.
No labor costs and consider it a huge food plot for the deer and turkeys.
I'm thinking I could do better, but ok with things like they are.

Stay Safe ... bigz
We are about 650 went out today, today we gave 14 to 16 ears a bag. Corn at cusp of denting or just starting to dent. FIeld picked down pretty good, still corn there harder to find.

approximately 2700 1/2 acre 5 dollars dozen net, La Crosse or even the guy around corner which is not there this year( heard he had crop failure) 7 to 8 dozen.

Last year field corn around 775 acre to plant from what I have read, last year I figured 1000 to 1100 input cost, direct and indirect for me

200 acre to rent around here from what I hear, sure it varies.

1000 to 1500 dozen is what i can figure per acre average sweet corn. Some people plant 18000 seeds others plant 32000 acre. i am 24000, 26000 range 32 inch spacing.

Also that 1/2 acre I replanted some sections or rows. Some of the rows few in spots I lost. I think turkeys ( rabbits?) went down some of the rows and eat the corn after planted. There was corn lost those sections of rows

I prolly should have charged 7 dozen this year, nothing but a up hill battle this year.

TOR, I'm sure you could have raised the price and still sold out, but neighbors appreciate the nice price and want to buy locally too.
If I was younger, I would pursue the profit making. I think my son will pursue that avenue when the property becomes his in the future.
He worked for a megafarm for years and is capable of anything farm related.
He tells me all the time that, Dad you are not a farmer yet LOL!

Since I am in Holmen selling I keep my price at 5, local people or most anyway. If I were to go down La Crosse I would definitely raise my price.

Some of these marketplace ads I see not sure if people grow to sell or more grow for self and some extra to sell.

There is money in it, lot of work, if I was younger I would think of getting another truck and hire someone. Rent land. Still make money. Just need a good product, higher population area. A lot of my customers come from people telling each other.

Not sure if try plant extra half acre make it 1.75 acres next year, if I do bout all I want. Each 1/2 acre is 12 days or so of mayham.

Anyway heat pushing next batch, tasseled early (possibly stressed) start all over again in about 5 days. hope it is not to much to soon and burn people out on corn.

corn is labor intensive if you don't use herbicides
. we used to plant a 1/2 pound, (1000) seeds.
that was plenty for our use and for friends to
come pick their own. Surprising how few people
would even pick their own.
at the end of the season, I would pick all that
was left and feed it to the chickens.
usually about 3 or 4 bushels.
DD wants me to plant some next year. She was
surprised when I told her about weeding it..
hell, I would plant an acre, if somebody else
would weed it.. the last time I planted corn,
I weeded only the rows that we were going to
use. I left the rest of the patch for DD. needless
to say, her patch never got weeded.
Next year I might plant a patch. I will work up
a new spot this fall..

Just some sprinkles up here in Shawano County. Didn't add up to much and sure seems like fall is coming fast as we've barely made it past 60F the past couple of days.
well i had my nose pieced and put a bone thru my nose, rings around my neck, stripes on my face, ran around nude with the fire pit going doing my rain dance.

Glad it worked somewhere, didnt work here
