Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I hadn't heard about 'the' avian flu. How would they actually test the sparrows for avian flu? At least it would not be very harmful to humans.
find a dead one or mass death of birds, I suppose they are collected and tested. Some birds are carriers just as people are carriers and do not get sick like covid.

Whoa, that's some weird seller! I'm over on the west side of Shawano County and raise fancy (bearded/vaulted) and backyard silkies. I'm collecting the fancies eggs now but if you want the pet-quality kind, just let me know and I'll set a dozen of those and give you a great deal...something like $50 for a baker's dozen. ☺️ These other ones are $10 ea./ 6 for $50.
I seen the womes ads north of the cities, she has been doing silkies for awhile.

In my lifetime, from what I've seen, sparrows are the most common bird out there. Good luck trying to get rid of them.
It can be done! Not nationwide or much less state-wide, but for our place we did!

We go through there a couple of times a year on our way up near Brainard but now I'd just buy eggs on eBay or from a breeder. I don't want to mess with chancing it with chicks anymore the way Marek's is rampant.

I'd love to have crows sitting in my tree Yelling at me when to go out. It would be shotgun time and a lot of fun
Wisconsin crow seasons:
Sept. 16 - Nov. 16, 2023 and Jan. 19 - Mar. 20, 2024
But I thought, as annoying as they are, we'd want them around to keep the hawks away?

I never knew they kept.
Hawks away.
Actually, I don't need to worry about shooting any crows. Even though I live in the country and there's birds everywhere in my yard. I've never seen one sitting in a tree at my house.
I see them up in the woods and on the ridge and such but, that's it.
With the weather, we've been having I'm expecting to see a Robin sitting out there. :)

Took Cooper out this morning and what do you think was in my tree? Yup a big crow!
he flew over to the big oak where there was 4 more.
Had to laugh.

Phones going off for a tornado :he
A tornado? Good Lord where? The wind here has been horrific enough we had to redo the greenhouse tarp as it was so strong it rolled large rocks off the sides holding it down. It's been crazy windy and this is the second day of it.
