Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

You are all lucky enough to have yards big enough to have decent gardens; mine was an old kiddie pool...... we call it our 'container garden'....

Someday we will have a place big enough for all the things I want to grow.

Like chickens!

I don't think it had much to do with fertilizing this year. Jus t a crappy growing season. I had plenty of horse fertilizer and still had a yucky garden. My strawberries did the best. Potatoes and beens too. The rest.....

Hi everyone, just thought I would throw an update out there.....I am now getting lots of eggs! Not totally positive on who or who isn't laying, but it appears that one of my New Hampshire Reds and one of my Black Australorps like to stay ON the eggs. Funny, yesterday there were 3 eggs all in one nest, nothing in the other nests. And, they taste GREAT!!!

Don't worry, you're cochins will do fine with their feathered legs. The extreme cold can cause frostbite on the high tips of the single comb.

Buck Creek is right about the high humidity....It won't be a problem until it's so cold that their breath creates a problem...then petroleum jelly rubbed on the combs and waddles helps to protect them.

Raked leaves for 2 hours today. Me & Suzie only cleaned up 2 trees. We use a large tarp, and then drag and dump the leaves in the woods off the lawn....prolly 30 more to go...

I should just let them kill the lawn and never have to mow, eh!

I hope Ahman Green (batman) gets to play Sunday at Lambeau Field.
He only needs 47 yards to be the all-time rusher for the pack, beating out Jim Taylor who holds the record. Go Pack, keep Brett on his back!

Chickens do just fine in the winter cold as long as you have enough birds to flock together and keep warm.

I also started a garden for the first time this year. I think I also learned that the soil needs some fertility to grow things, and that I needed to water consistently and that it was a crappy year.

Buck Creek congrats on the new additions. Booteds are very rare and unique. I saw the photos online and thought they were very neat.

I had a customer yesterday email me this and I wanted to share "Your website shows a degree of organization that is very consumer friendly and shows an understanding of their thought process. Many sites that I have visited include similar products to yours; however, there is little visual differentiation among the items that they offer. Grouping with sub-groups is common among the websites but you also include a best sellers column which re-insures an buyer’s decision or indicates that they are acquiring something unique. Your section identifying other items bought also helps a consumer to make a decision. The information that you provide with each breed is very helpful as well, not to mention that you have an extensive list of breeds available. These aspects and others combined with an easy ability to navigate the site is what I was referring to. "

I am buying my plane ticket to visit my brother and sisterinlaw in China. Anybody want some souveniers?
