Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

We got our "real" tree yesterday and I put it up last night. That makes 4 trees IN my house.

I love Christmas! Now the part about shopping is another story. Yeah! Not so much.

It is going to be a skimpy Christmas.

I got hit with a cold from my youngest. So I'm not up to par. Hopefully it won't last too long.

Hope you all are well and had a nice weekend. It was nippy out there. But my girls don't seem to mind too much as long as the sun is out.

Looking forward to Wednesday. I hear there may be a big on coming. Some say up to 9"!

Scam!!! Scam !!!! Just a minute let me check my list. Bigzio Bigzio Ah here it is Hmmmm. It seems as if you've been a very good boy for most the year but there are a few area's that need some improvements. #1 on the list is questioning Santa's judgement! That's very bad! Of course I wouldn't say that to a child but maybe I just did.

In a lot of ways I really hope so. It's important to retain the wonder of a child! HO HO HO!!!!!!

Good Evening!

Eeek! It seems like everywhere I turn now someone's offering me FREE chickens! Seriously! What the heck is going on??? A friend of mine emailed me that a friend of hers is thinning his flock and that I can have as many as I want free for the taking. A farmer we buy from told me tonight that he is sending chickens for processing next week, and, really, he'd hate to see all of them go so I can take however many I want. I've committed to the two Nankins that we're getting in a few weeks and, really, those two are a good, nice start for us and ... what's going on??? Do I have some sort of sign on my head? Chicken Lady Wannabe? LOL!!

Good Evening to all...

Santa (aka Dr.H) As you already know. I've been good. Really Good!
Don't ask Suzie how I've been. She might cloud your decision as to wether I've been too good! You know how Miss Clause can strech the truth a bit....,eh?

For Christmas I would like Peace on Earth and good will toward all men. I know you will do your best to deliver my present by noon on Christmas day. I will have home made cookies and a bottle of wine or a few cans of your favorite beer for wash.
I know you get awful thirsty, lugging all the presents around.

Thanks in advance for filling my order....I know you are real busy now gearing up for the Big Day.

May God Bless you and Miss Clause, for all you do!

Go Packers.....

Hi,
I'm a new egg in Wisconsin - just north of the Dells. I have 30 hens and 3 roos. I just bought a heated plastic bowl - will use it when I need to leave for the weekend. I work from home so it is easy for me to change out water several times a day. I have a question - I have been keeping several containers of food and 3 containers of water out in the chicken run. I only keep a 3 gal waterer in the coop. Since we got some snow last night, I have moved the food to inside the coop. Today, even tho it was sunny, the chickens stayed in the coop all day. What's up with that???

Glad you have a heated waterer. The flock will thank you for it. My flock hates the snow and I sure can't blame them.
I choose to keep the water and feed inside the coop during the winter too.
During nice weather I have multiple waters everywhere in the shade where they spend of their time free ranging.

ZohBug...time to look for a place in the country... Then you can have all the birds you want.

Well it's snowing weather people are saying up to a foot. Yippy, been wating for this!! Weather people sure make a big deal out of it. Maybe I'm to much of a homebody. Anyways got the tractor ready if the snow does hit. The heated plastic bowls work very well for me to got them out last week. Just checkin in. Mike

Well it's been snowing here all morning - and my chicks definitely do NOT like the snow. I couldn't even coax them out with warm outmeal this morning. Does anyone have a feel for how much it costs to run the water heater dish? Mine is 60 watts and only comes on when needed. Also, do any of you put electrolytes in the water for full grown chickens - and if you do, how often?

I wasn't able to watch the game last night - couldn't find the channel. What the heck. Wondering was the scores were at half time and final. Thanks!
