Someone told me fon du lac was on March 13, that seems a little early. I'll check tomorrow for sure.

Hello Critter Crazed and welcome!

We are in for the get together. I penciled it in on the calandar. Maybe we will even camp. We'll see what the weather's like. Looking forward to it. Thanks fordmommy for all that you are doing and I agree with Dr HaHa that someone will have to be collector of the money. I would do it but Waupaca is about 2 hours away from me and that doesn't really make sense. We should also think of food. Thats important. Atleast to my herd of 6(excluding animals). When we iron out money lets work on food next.

Potluck works for us!

Take care!

If we all brought some kind of grilling food and buns plus a salad/fruit/chips whatever we would be covered. Charcoal is cheap and everyone can bring their own drinks and plates/flatware too.....

Just mulling over some ideas here......

Since I am so close to Waupaca, use an abuse me fordmommy!!!! I'll be happy to give you a hand!

That's funny. My wife is from Kentucky and is new to Wisconsin. She and I were having lunch at the local tavern today and she asked me about a "toy" above the back bar. It was a figurine of the Hamm's bear and his sidekick, the little bear. The little bear was pulling him on a sled or something. I said "That's the Hamm's bear". She didn't know what I was talking about. I said "You know, from the land of sky blue waters...". She really didn't know what the heck I was talking about.

Hello All!

This meet and greet sounds fundiferous! Waupaca seems to be about 2.5hrs away from me. Are there any hotels nearby? Will it be kid friendly? My little (human) ones are 3.5 and 8 (well, she'll be 8 by then).

Our chickettes have settled in quite nicely and are teaching us all sorts of things first hand. Yes, it is most definitely true that chickens do fly and even in our living room. Also, they are willing to share their quarters with 3yos who come inside their space to build "beds" for them with pine shavings. And who knew they were such messy eaters and drinkers who foul of their water so? There's clearly a leader among the and she's the first to come to the door and ventures to step out when I go to change their food and water and give them a few pets.

All that being said, we're all quite smitten and I'm on a great banty search looking to add 1-3 more bantam hens ASAP. It seems that most breeders are being all traditional and such and waiting till Spring to hatch, but there have to be a couple of banty hens out there who need a new home right now, right? Well, we're on a mission to find them! One breeder I called today thought I was nuts for being willing to drive an hour to come pick up a couple of bantys. If he had 'em, and I wanted 'em, we would have driven there. What's the confusion?

there's usually a swap at Marinette's Farm and Garden the weekend before or of Easter. They may have their website updated the the date. Also there is a rabbit and pigeon club in Marinette county that has a swap in Marinette at TSC. Don't know when it is though. Hope this helps a little.

I am up for whatever for the meet and greet. I might consider camping too. First I will be finishing my catalog, then working on putting photos and typing up my travel notes.

My wife and I are going to be buying a house this spring. We are looking into where we can have chickens. We currently live in Oshkosh and they do not currently allow chickens. Neenah does. I am not sure if I should fight city hall or pick a house based on who allows it. I think it would be fun to fight city hall but its a lot of work.

I want to assemble a list of cities in Wisconsin that do allow Urban Chickens. Please provide cities and a the text of the ordinance. I would appreciate if we could put that list on Wisconsin Urban Chicken Cities Thread
