Yes Dr. Haha, trying for my RN. I was accepted into UW-O, now I need to apply for the accelerated RN program...... I will keep you all posted, but I will not know until April if I made it in.
There is a thread in the chickenstocks, swaps, meet and greet section of the site; I think it is Bigzio's first annual chickenstock.... something like that. I had mine locked so there would be less confusion......
Ugh! NOT looking forward to working today...... my feet are killing me yet from yesterday, and I have not even gotten up!
Good to see everyone is having a great time. I was out on the snowshoes for another hour today.
It's great exercise....takes a few beers after to quench the thrist.....
Congrats babylady, way to go!
DrH, glad you survived the 12 hour cash cow. Have one for me! You know you had enough if you need a tow bar....
My friend Jim lost a guinea to a owl last night. One that didn't want to return to the coop. Bad choice.
Bigz your gonna wear them out. Hydration is very important! Just ask my brain. I've often thought of getting a pair and will do so soon also a set of Xcountry ski's. I have a big field next to my place and it would make a good lap. Think the shoes would be more cost effective. Forgot to mention that I use mature rye straw, it has seeds. That's too bad about Jim's guinea. Losses always hurt. bl4 I hope you can realize your goal. We already know your good people and would make a great RN. You care! Burgers from the barbie and salads tonight. Had to fend off our supper from 2 hens and it was on the grill. Hey Hey thats my food not yours. Peaches grumbles when he has cracked corn too. Sure they get burgers on the grill and all I get is this dry cracked corn crap just wait till he walks away I'll tell him a thing or two. BUR BUR BUR!
Good evening! I was gone in IL all day at a letterboxing event (my other addiction) You all have been really busy chatting! Somebody new too! WELCOME! And to answer your question about combs...Nope--they dont grow back...but next winter you wont have frostbitten tips either!
Dr H there IS spell check on here...at least on my view, I have to go back and redo all the red underlined words. I dont bother with the ones that are missing their apostrophes though. See, I never would have been able to spell THAT without spell check! (And I used to be such a good speller!)
Good luck on those eggs BL4! I hear that mine are doing well under HensandRoos banty too...she is happy as a clam with her new responsibility! The hen...maybe not the person!
Henny the swollen chicken is going back outside tomorrow! She is doing great and the draining was a success! She is eating, drinking and pooping just like a hen should so she needs to go back out. I have to fashion a bracelet for her because I am sure she will need to be monitored in case this happens again to her...I hear it will. Her comb is even starting to stand up a bit today!
Fordmommy--the blue egg is from one of my Ameracaunas. I do have a black amer. roo too, but the egg could also be fertile from a RIR, BA, BO or the Hamp mutt that is in there! ...I have no idea who is laying the really blue egg though. I am planning some separate pens for the spring so maybe I can figure it out. I am also thinking of those "nest traps" that I saw instructions on "somewhere" to help me figure out who is laying what.
OK DD18 is home so we need to catch up! Good night! Terri O
I had a pretty good hatch rate last year; and it was my first try! I think I had something like 90%.......
BCC, what exactly did you send over with Fordmommy? What color chicks should I expect? I am asking since they are all in there together and I am not sure how to get them all separated for hatching day so we know what is what.......
Kool Aid Queen I live over in the train wreck town of Wega. Formommy is close as well. I hope you can make it to the chickenstock!! I don't have chickens at all since I am in town so I am incubating for Fordmommy. Someday I WILL have a farm and all the chickens ducks and geese I want!!!!!
TerriO, you much use Foxfire for your browser; I like that spellcheck feature as well but my computers do not like foxfire....
I get to play at UW-Fox tomorrow (yay!) and the next day as well! I LOVE having a job that is so much NOT a job! I wish it was full time so I could quit my other job.......
Lets see I think It was Langshans, wheaten Ameraucanas (spelled wrong but I'm not in the mood to think about it
) Barred cochin banty, the WA's will hatch out lt yellow, aren't the wheatens marked? How many eggs did she give you. What i do when that happens (hatching for others) i make an area or box for the smaller group to keep them separate
They are marked with pencil. I have one of the FF incubators so they all hatch in there as well. Any suggestions for separating the eggs at hatch time? Cardboard dividers perhaps?????? I tossed in some of my blue EE's and BO eggs as well.....
The button quail go in on Friday, we are down to 14 eggs of the quail. I checked them over once I brought them home and found a cracked one. I cannot wait to see those little buggers hatch!
